Re: where has all the work gone

very quiet over here, lot’s of enquiries but no one has any spare money and are putting off the inevitable.Had a phone call today where a Bosch is making “a horrible screeching noise when spinning” but they can’t afford to have it fixed.

I did the Dixon course 2 years ago and found it invaluable as a foundation course. As Jim stated above it does only scratch the surface of the repair work.

If you still have the transit bolts refit them,if not you can always take off lid and put some cushions around the drum.As washman said do not remove the weights just making extra work for yourself.

    Re: F&P GW608U circuit board

Hi Jaz,don’t know anything about F&P but usually if a circuit board goes it has been caused by another component or water etc.If you have not solved the underlying problem a new or refurbished board is not going to solve your problem.
Why did you change the board in the first place?

Does the waste pipe fit into a stand pipe or is it connected to under sink plumbing?

The motor slides onto two plastic mounts at the rear,so it should be just a case of pulling the motor forward. It will be very tight.

The length of the brush will depend on how long they have been used.If they are worn there will be very little carbon left.
I always wait at least 5 minutes after unplugging a machine before I touch anything.
    Always better to be safe.

To configure a new pcb you will also need a new smart card and card reader.I don’t know the price off the top of my head but they are expensive.
I am sure that Iadom or another expert on here will be able to quote you

    Re: WFL2066 – control board fault…?

Never turn a machine upside down as any water in it could end up on the electrics. There is a chance that water has got on to the pcb.
You may be lucky and it just needs to dry out but the chances are that it has shorted the components on the pcb.

I agree with Ghand1,spending £200 on a replacement motor might seem expensive.
When you look at the inexpensive rubbish that has swarmed on to the market it sometimes seems better to go for a new machine.
BUT they are rubbish and will not give you anywhere near the service of a Bosch.

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Got a call on friday from someone who is a 2hr drive away.Told them that there would be a call out charge.
The guy was very rude and told me that he wasn’t willing to pay a call out charge.Told him to contact a Spanish tecnico but he replied”I don’t speak spanish”
My reply “not my problem” and put the phone down.
Phone call this morning from the guys wife. The tecnico’s call out charge was twice mine and would i drop everything to sort out their machine.
How i relished turning down that job.
