Where you say ‘light lenses’, it makes it sound as if they are all seperate. They should be all together as one part.

I made the same mistake once. hth

Thanks for the quick reply Chris. Now I know that, it seems so obvious. I will remember for next time.

    Re: Bloody credit crisis.

It will eventuallly go back up, if you are young enough to wait that long. My Scottish Widows pension kept going down, so I switched it to Friends Provident. It still went down by £12,000 in 18 months. The only way I could see to stop it falling was to cash it in. Thats what I’ve just done. So I am now in control, and investig the lump sum, and monthly income myself. I feel a lot better for it.

Why not ask S W for some cash in figures

You could try Maytag in Redhill, Surrey, Tel 0844 499 0101.

As they are in the process of merging with Whirlpool it might be a bit hit and miss.

i wouldnt fit cheap and nasty parts to try and solve it either, stick to the manufacturers parts

Considering the machine is made from ‘cheap and nasty parts’ in the first place, there is no hope of a solution.

If every repairer got every customer to sign away their rights with a written agreement to ‘relinquish their rights’ on every job, it just makes a mockery of the law. The people who make these laws would just say that any written agreement is not valid.

From the honest repairers point of view it just adds to the daily grief

From the point of an old dear facing a dishonest repairer the law is a good one, in the knowledge that if she feels ripped off, or threatened to agree to a repair that she regrets tomorrow, she can at least have the law on her side.

This law also applies to plumbers, electricians, etc, so it may make everyone think before overcharging customers, and not being able to get away with it.

Thanks for the replies. Another repaired module from EMW cured it.

I think the problem was caused by a dodgy earth in the socket, one to look out for.

Question? there was a black earth wire on the motor which went to the mains supressor on a seperate terminal. Is this to give the invertor type motor a clean earth?

As mentioned earlier the law applies to the consumer, not buisiness users. As a letting agent or landlord can be classed as a buisness user I don’t think the law would apply.
    That’s how I see it

Re: LEC TF3404W freezing in fridge

I phoned LEC today for advise on this one. I was told that Glen Dimplex were now the owners of LEC, as of 18 months ago. They also said that any parts for any fridge or freezer before the take over were now N L A.

So I have a 2 year old F/F which is now useless.
