Dont know what that could be. Although these machines will whistle and hum a lot if spun when empty. The holes make the noise.

What sort of noise does it make?
    Bearing rumbling?
    Squeaking?
    Knocking?
    Pump?

    Re: Hotpoint WMA61S door frame.

I had trouble with connect when I wanted a door inner for a Bosch w/m. The picture was different to the one I ordered, or the one I wanted. I dont think you can always rely on the picture matching the p/n.

Why not have a higher set labour charge for higher value machines. I always do, and no one has ever complained

Re: A Tricky Job? – Whats the hardest repair you have done?

When I was a raw recuit in the 70’s, my boss always threatened me with repairing a Burco 21 washing machine. I never did see one.

Drive clutch p/n 481969018152 is easy to fit

    Remove agitator
    remove cabinet
    remove pump and motor
undo 3 bolts and the gearbox will slide out
the drive clutch is on top of gearbox, held with a spring clip
the plastic brake lever comes with it

So if i put the machine in wash mode for a couple of minutes then unplug it, if the agitator shaft can be turned by hand it’s duff

    Yes

What I usually do is :-

Fill machine with water and let it agitate for a few seconds. Switch off, put my hands in the water, grab hold of the agitator and you should not be able to move it.

Switch on to spin, let it empty, wait for the pause and the gearbox will clunk in to spin mode. Let it spin for a few seconds. Switch off, grab hold of the agitator and it should turn freely.

If you are getting slow spin, make absolutly sure that it is pumping fast enough, and with no blockages. If it is pumping OK then I would suspect the drive clutch. hth

In spin mode the agitator is disengaged and is free to turn by hand. Otherwise the machine would try to agitate during spin and rip the clothes.

Re: One piece welded tub seized solid!

I went to an Indesit where the drum was seized solid. The fault turned out to be a deformed door seal. A new one cured the problem. Maybe Zanussi could have a similar problem.

My missus puts them in the dishwasher, then gives them a once over with a scourer while they are still hot, and they are sparkling.
