    Re: Maytag LAT9306GGE top loader

If its the tub bearing that needs replacing ( the rubber mount one on the underside of the outer tub) the tub will have to be removed.

The inner drum will have to come out first.

Remove the adgitater to expose the mount stem and nut.

To remove the mount stem and tub nut (l/h thread) you will find almost impossible if you dont have the special spanner.

Once both tub and drum are out it should be fairly obvious

Dont forget to fit a mount stem kit as well

    Re: pat test help

I’ve seen domestic w/m’s hard wired, with a switch above the worktop, (as no dought you all have ) but I still test it for insulation.

All appliances should be tested, with or without a plug.

If without one, then test it from the terminal block.

It covers your own back, if nothing else.

I did notice that there is a tacho feedback on the motor. Anyone any idea what that’s for?

    Bob

A lot of Zanussi D/W use a tacho for ‘variable speeds of rotation’ (as in TDS) so presumably Neff is similar

    Yes I’ve got to laugh.

No cup of tea = add £5
Child crying, or dog barking = add £5
Dirty or smelly house = add £10
    Cut hand = add £5
    Georgeus housewife = minus £5

Does any one use the Lokring system when fitting compressors?. Is it easy to use? Is it cost effective? I have been told not to braze connections on R134a systems, as it is potentcialy explosive.

Sounds like it could be a faulty reversing switch in the timer

Thanks for all the replies. The idea of using washing up liquid sounds a good un.

However, the seal I used ( a genuine Hotpoint one ) was covered in some sort of mineral oil, maybe to assist fitting.
