Go on keep rubbing it in Jim 😆 Tried to get up onto the hills above our village yesterday afternoon after your post, the road & pathway has been closed off by the Police after a bunch of little nerks in their toy cars decided to play on the mountain & crashed 🙁 👿 Anyway glad to hear you enjoyed the walk & got back safely. Andy.

Methinks the customers can wait today, even the gritters are having a fun time trying to get through the village. Did you say you were going for a walk Jim? I always knew you northerners were a hearty breed 🙂

    Re: best toolboxes?

Guys: What’s the problem with BG engineers?? From what I saw when contracting to them, yes they have some bad engineers but they also have some bloody good & skilled engineers.
The other thing is which of you can say hand on heart that all the independents are good ? I know i sure can’t.

    Re: best toolboxes?

Try http://www.mills.co.uk, although they dont do appliances they have some really good tool cases at reasonable prices. The last time I looked they were selling ABS Briefcase type toolcases from £68.00 + VAT.
I prefer the British gas type tool box as it has pleny of room for tools etc & a tray for smaller parts, these sell for about £40.00 from mills, mine has lasted about 10 years & seen some serious use on site.

Totaly agree with Martin: Although going it alone is often tough it’s a lot more satisfying than working for someone else & you dont have to cover someone else when they mess up.

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Went out to an Indesit cooker the other day & found out one of the controls burnt out, told customer I would be back today at 10.00 a.m no problem. Turn up at 10.05 to be asked where the hell I had been? when I get to the cooker I find that the Husband has been inside & very helpfully removed the faulty control, no markings on the wiring no diagrame nothing & had also disconnected the hob itself spend 45 mins fitting control & tracing out wiring etc, do safety tests and present bill only to get a mouthfull of abuse because I charged for the extra work. 😡 😡
I just adore customers but I couldnt eat a whole one 🙂 🙂
