ParticipantHave you looked at http://www.howtorepair.com ? Paul may have a video of the process.

ParticipantNot sure about that to be honest, but I’m sure they’ll do their best to help you out. They’re really good people to deal with.

ParticipantHope you get it sorted, thinking about it it would be better to disconnect both wires from the element. If the element comes out from the front, you need to make sure that the wires don’t slip back through the holes. That can be a total pain in the backside, the only problem I can see is getting an element so you can repair it in time for Christmas. Good luck & please let us know how you get on.

ParticipantThe answer to both questions would be yes, easy way to prove is to disconnect and insulate one wire from the element then turn on the fan oven. If it doesn’t trip you’ve proved the point.
please ensure that the mains power is turned off before working on the appliance.Specialist01269
ParticipantSounds like a typical OTT description from a member of the public, I’d love to be able to examine that machine.

ParticipantThere’s a risk of Electric shock from all motor drive boards until the capacitors have lost their charge. If your going to remove the board, please ensure that the machine is unplugged as failure to do so could prove very painful if not fatal.

If you haven’t been to the job yet, how could you tell Dave that there’s plenty of flex in the wires ?.

ParticipantIf you want meaningful / useful answers, it would be a good idea to go and do some checking & testing first. It may be something that you can find quickly, but if not we should at least have something to go on.
