Hi Steven: Is there any chance of having a copy of the manual off of you mate? I have 1 of these to go to on Tuesday that intermittenly dies off, so the manual may come in extremely handy.
    Thanks: Andy.

Hi Mike: It gets worse than that, when I did a loop test on the socket in the shed I got a reading of over 50 ohms & this from a TNS supply.
When I started checking i discovered that the socket was wired as an extension on a length of 1mm flex which is plugged into a socket in the living room & is just left lying across the yard in the wet and under a pile of rubbish into this extension they have another 2×4 ways they run a Fridge freezer, on this continually & then expect to run a Tumble drier & Washing machine on it as well, you can imagine my language when they asked why the fuse in the inside plug blows regularly.

Hi Guys: Just to finish this thread off, I went out to the machine today, put it through the diagnostic cycle and got E33: Pressure switch incongruence. Checked the switch & found 1st level switch closed and anti boil open, checked for blockages, duff heater etc but no faults just simple pressure switch fault. Gave the customer a price of £60 to repair machine & got told don’t bother we will buy a new one. 😡
I just love customers like this (not), scrap an otherwise good machine for the sake of £60.
Anyway Guys thanks for the info & Thanks again for the Manual Chris,
    Regards: Andy

Hi: Yes Adobe 8.1 is installed & running, I have managed to get into the first screen & if I input a make and model then use filter it will show what is theoretically on the disc. I just input Zanussi ZWF1621w and got a list of information available so selected the service manual but all it comes up with no matter what I select is an exploded parts diagram.

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Got back from the UKWG’s meeting, checked the answerphone. Amounts all the service calls was one from a woman saying that I had repaired her old mum’s washer last week. She went round to check on her as the old dear has Alzheimer’s, opened a cupboard door to find my meter safely stored away. Her mum had no recollection of putting it there.

Nice to know there are still some honest punters around.

    Re: Hotpoint Aquarius 1000

Hi Guys: Checked all wiring cant find any breaks or chafing anywhere, and the insulation test was good. Have just spoken to the cmr & she says her daughter has done 2 loads on the E cycle since I left & no further problems, it’s a new one on me.
Anyway thanks once again for your input I appreciate it, when you work on your own it’s nice to have someone to bounce ideas off & get a new perspective on a problem: Andy 😀

    Re: Hotpoint Aquarius 1000

Hi All: Just been out to look at this machine & put through on the E, the only problem I could find was that the timer knob stuck between pump out & start of spin. The mains then tripped out, reset RCD & manually advance timer to spin and all o.k so I took the timer button off & cleaned all the c{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}$p from around it then tried it again twice on the same cycle, problem solved no more tripping. Dont you just love clean customers?
anyway thanks for the helpful replies: Andy.

Phidom wrote:I would check the heater first. By “any other cycle” they might just mean rinse and spin. If its a WM model it may well be a cracked spider.

Hi Phidom & thanks for the reply, according to the customer she has tried the machine on the H & J cycles and it works fine but when she tries the E cycle it trips out.

maltheviking wrote:What does your megger say? as Phidom says the spider may be cracked and damaged the heater although they would have complained of it being noisy on spin, check the insulation with water in the machine, fill it by hand to be on the safe side 😉

Hi Mal: Not been there yet to Megger it out so will have to wait & see.
