Just another thought,if you are washing at a sort of commercial level it could be worth looking into automatic detergent dispensers, mounted on the walll which automatically dispense commercial liquid detergent and softener or bleach if required into your machines.
Efficient and accurate plus they are usually stronger than domestic powder.

Love the thought of someones underwear being mixed with, tea towels, washed at 30 (gets your clothes clean and smelling fresh! it says so on the packet!) :)or with the wife or daughters clothes who then goes off to work on a hospital ward or in a delicatessent, strewth.
Bit like the hairdressers who only want their towels freshened up,”they aren’t dirty so we just put them on a 30C” !!
I worked on commercial laundry in hospitals and nursing homes for many years, not entirely sure of the reg’s now but machines had to have sluice facility in which soiled clothes in laundry bags went through before the normal wash cycle.and on sluice the plastic disolved so the soiled garments were sanitised with an automatically chemical additive prior to the normal wash cycle usually at 90c.
Think simple at first, not always the solution but if it is it makes life easy.

Most “commercial” top loader commercials have a front which comes off,two screws low down and then hinge the front up.

    Interesting read chaps,thanks.
Half the public must be wandering around in bacteria laden clothes, thanks to the “low temperature” claims by the detergent manufactures.
Mind you they can always put them back in that washer with the dirty door seal and smell which is always stale, give them a slosh abnout in tepid water and put them on again.
    😉

It’s not always how much powder it’s whether or not it’s over sudsing.
Modern washers wash in very low kevel water,so when the machine is on the wash/heater section when it gets into that section there can be a visible layer of suds on the top of the water.
Doesn’t take much time for a heater exposed in air/suds as opposed to water, for this to happen, white deposit on the heater can be indicative of that.
I work quite a lot on true commercials and often find this with nursing homes using cheap or domestic powder not following manufactures guides..
When you remove a heater as you say there are two marks where the clip fits, you can use a torch to see the clip through the heater fitting when out or through the inner drum holes with a torch when the heater is in situ to ensure it’s OK.
The theory on the powder about not needing much on high temps should be more towards, how soiled, how large is the load, temperature is not relevant. The powder is designed to not only extract the soil from the washing but also to suspend the “soil” it in the water so it doesnt go back on the washing,it’s then pumped out with the water.
Powder should be administeres as per the instructions depending on the water hardness.
I would certainly not assume the powder side of this issue is OK.
The deposit on the heater again could be an indication of this as it has failed in a short time.

Martin seems to be on the right track but just an additional thought.
Make sure you are using decent powder, and, the correct amount.
Too much powder will increase soap suds etc and as the drum turns exposes the element to air pockets in the foam as opposed to being constantly immersed in water which doesn’t help element life.
Also smaller the load less powder. As Martin says a full insulation test on the machine would tell you if ithas a clean bill of health.

The Irish Banking Crisis simply explained…

Young Paddy bought a donkey from a farmer for £100. The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey the next day…

The next day he drove up and said: ‘Sorry son, but I have some bad news. The
    donkey’s died.’

Paddy: ‘Well then just give me my money back.’

Farmer said, ‘Can’t do that. I’ve already spent it.’

‘OK, then, just bring me the dead donkey.’

‘What are you going to do with him?’
‘I’m going to raffle him off.’
‘You can’t raffle a dead donkey!’
‘Sure I can. Watch me. I just won’t tell anybody he’s dead.’

A month later, the farmer met up with Paddy and asked, ‘What happened with
    that dead donkey?’

Paddy: ‘I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at two pounds apiece and made a profit of £998.
    ‘Didn’t anyone complain?’

‘Just the guy who won. So I gave him his two pounds back.’

Paddy now works for the Royal Bank of Ireland..

Find carboard boxes to put food in it will be fine for a couple of hours, especially this time of year if you put it outside, hairdryer on full hold 6 inches or so away from ice, as said earlier get stuck in,no metal or sharp objects, all over in 3o minutes or less, dry out with old towel.
35 years of using hair dryer no problems,as I go balder it’s the only decent run out it gets 🙂 !

Is it your mains/rcd trip that fails,if so you need someone to test the appliance.
No reset trip built in,could be an overheat protector in motor windings,
Are the filters clean,is the fan blade clean is the exhaust clear at the end on vent ?
    All worth a look.
