I spent the day in Rochester (nice place) great atmosphere.
Mind you if you aren’t a fan best to avoid area by a good few miles as evrything gets closed 4 hours before the race goes through.
Been to France a good few times following it,once the roads shut it’s out with the bbq anf local wine ! as you say unless you are on a serious climb they go past so quickly it’s hard to pick nyone out.

    Re: American hose adapter

I’m trying to source these adaptors from outside the usual trade route, had some in the past.think it was from a company I had similar adaptors for hot water inlet booster pumps for American washers.
Wanted support wheels recently for a whirlpool dryer, ended up buying from USA a kit comprising belt.jockey pulley and 4 support pulleys for 1/2 the price of the support pulleys alone including postage from US,was here in 5 days.
Thanks to the internet we do have a bit more choice.
Have a friend who runs a machine shop who said he would make me a couple of adaptors in brass for less than Whirlpool charge for plastic, wont take him up on it yet though!

    I’ve seen that one thanks.
I have one of the correct adapters as per the pic and was hoping someone might have a source for some more.
Dont want to go down the road of forcing a bsp one onto a american valve.

    Door Seal repair
Was out in the sticks to a washer (Beko)leaking from the lip of a door seal and running down the front.
Something had been trapped, material or lace etc and dipped the seal too far in with almost little creases.
No replacement on board so thought I would try to reform it,using hair dryer and screwdiver handle, pushing the lip towards me it reshaped after a short time and sealed fine, two weeks gone and still fine.

F4 is associated witha drainae fault so check:
    Filters are clean
drain hose is not rescricted, remove from fitting (if connected to sink drain) and check for fat etc blocking pipes
    Drain pump may be faulty/worn
Could also be a control board fault.

If you have a decent metal worker nearby.take a cardboard template of the nut profile and get one made out of 1/8″ steel with a couple of handles cut out,you can alaways trim to fit with file, probal half the price from whirlpool. My local chap is brilliant and very reasonable.
You could also buy a new nut,for just a few pounds and have a tool made to fit,or make one yourself.

If its in a hard water area and the water softener hasn’t been used or there isnt one sounds like the tube which supplies rinse jets and is part of the boiler is blocked with scale, was there scale in the boiler when you fitted element? if so it’s a sign/possibility.
I use a wet pick up vac to pull the water out of the boiler and also the limescale.
Also check for hairline cracks around the heater fitting, they often stress at that point.
Which model? the boiler can be removed and descaled.

Re: Top or bottom, you decide.

A further thought occured re the foreign object and inverting,if there are foreign objects lying inside machines which arent spotted before inverting and possibly causing damage I cant see the “olive which did the damage” ending up in the same place as it did when fully inverted as opposed to lying on its side.
Lying the machine on its side it would possibly end up sliding towards the side as opposed to full inversion, especiallly if not done slowly which would mean the foreign object could land almost anywhere.
It is however a rare event to find anything like that in the bottom of machines let alone have it cause so much havoc.
Once dropped a pair of pliers inside when replacing a water distributor and though I ‘ll get that when finished, however I forgot, returned for annual service a year later and there were my favourite pliers in the bottom ledge 😳

Sums it up really,I am probably past changing habits,I would be nervous if inverting a dishwasher even if all appeared drained that somewhere lies a hidden dribble which would find it’s way onto a pcb.
Have always put washers down on the side but years ago putting a Zanussi it on its side with soap draw upper most (mistake) cost me a timer after the water residue in a blocked soap draw found its way down onto timer pcb which I didnt realise until I test ran,too late by then !!
