set the cable tie over the belt and around the face of the motor pulley, now turn the pulley and the belt just pops on.

Correction !!!! Motor pulley ? No I meant to say Drum Pulley. 🙂

    Re: Hotpoint Belt Fitting Tool

Personally the 1860 belts are s*** to fit and the belt fitting tool ie. the better one makes the job a breeze, trying to strech the belt with your fingers or screwdrivers is hard work compared with using the right tool.
On the vented dryers hotpoint recommend removing the right side panel ( looking at the machine ) slacken the front, drop the belt over the drum, insert the belt tool into the cutout on the base, engage the belt onto the teeth of the tool and pass it over and onto the motor shank, job done,

With WMA machines I use a cable tie, thread the belt over the motor pulley, bring it up over the main pulley, when its more or less in position on the main pulley set the cable tie over the belt and around the face of the motor pulley, now turn the pulley and the belt just pops on.

Re: Running a wm motor out of the machine

we used to have a electrical jig ithe workshop that would run Hoover and Hotpoint motors until some idiot threw it out one day. Anyway like has been said testing motors with a meter, eye, and or megger has served me well and if a customer does not believe what I say then they need to find someone else to do their job, trust is the order of the day and if I get it wrong then thats my lookout not theirs, wonder is she has the same trouble at her dentists !

Re: Smeg 700mm Cooker Door Problem

Yes its built in but its like a range cooker, 700mm wide single oven ,
its a cross between a standard single built in 600mm cooker and range.

I have tried to pull the door down whilst lifting to disengaged the hinges from the runners but it will not budge, the cooker is retained by four screws into the base unit but because the door will not drop down you cannot get onto these screws.

Thanks, I have already had the ribbed hose of and that was clear, however since I had the DA chamber and float chamber off and cleaned that, I tried it today and it went passed the 70 mins ! I think that the blocked spray arms and gunge in the float chamber was causing the excessive program times.

    Re: Bosch Slimline Diswasher

On test yeterday on the 55 65c wash the appliance gets down to 70 mins and then with the wash pump continually running it runs without refiling.
I have not take the DA chamber off and cleaned the water device with the float etc and see if that makes any difference.

    Model Number SRS56L08GB/18

There I got it, had another look at this earlier and the wash times shown before I cleaned the blocked spray arms was 55-65c Auto Wash = 199 mins
    Short wash 35c = 120mins.

The wash times now after cleaning show 55-65c Auto wash = 119 mins ?
    and 35c = 33 mins.

Do these wash time estimates sound correct for this model ?

    Martin Said,

The heater needs testing, blockages in the water inlet matrix/pressure chamber. I guess too it has a turbidity sensor which could be crudded up giving false feed-back. Visual inspection of the module followed by the usual live test run.

I will post the model later, as bad as the customers with no model number ah !. Anyway in the meatime thanks Martin, yes this model does have a turbidity Sensor as its at Logix xxx series. The heater is heating and checks out fine. What I did find is that both the spray arms were restricted, cleaned those out and the Qucik 35c wash now running at 33 mins and showing 33 mins instead of 112 mins ????

I am testing further this morning and will be back with the model.

    Re: Bosch Slimline Diswasher

Sorry Martin, maybe I did not make myself clear, when I said that the customer says it runs for the stated time I meant that if she selects a Quick wash of 35c the time used to show 32mins. But now it shows 120 mins and actually takes 2 hours to complete this wash ????

I have read the manual and section that deals with program times and that states that the displayed times can vary depended on the usual things like incoming water pressure, heating time etc etc.

But two hours to do a quick was is not exactly quick is it ? and as the customer has had this machine four years the specifed 32mins is more or less the time that it takes to do this cycle.

Do you still think that nowt is wrong ???

    Thanks 🙂

Normally its easy to insert the spinner shaft back into the bellows seal, never had any problem doing that. Mind you I always for whats its worth lower the spin can gently until you feel the shaft making contact with the bellows seal, by careful placement you can feel when its on the hole and then insert it.

Its one of those jobs that the more of em you do the better you get at it !

    Good Luck 😀

Re: Business Bank Account v Personal Accounts

Martin Said ( The Inland Revenue have access to all bank account details and avoiding them is not possible. The ‘Banking Code of Practice’ involves both bank and it’s customers in freely declaring the source of all incomings and outgoings. There’s nowhere to hide when dealing with banks. )

Martin I was not suggesting the idea of hiding from HMRC ! merely posing the question of using a personal account to deposit ones turnover and avoiding bank charges. Its something that I have never considered until yesterday when I got talking to someone else runnig and business as a sole trader who is using a personal current account to administer their banking needs.

Mind you we currently are paying about £ 1000.00 per annum for our business banking with barclays and In light of what has been raised here I will be talking to Barclays to see if we can get free banking ! they aint gona like that !

Out of interest when you say you had a B Account which was a personal account that would I assume mean that all cheques from your customers were made out to you personally and not to a trading name if you were operating with one ?

I am with Barclays both my business and personal accounts and savings ( all eggs in one basket ) are you saying that you have a Barclays Small Business Tariff Account on which you do not pay any business charges
    at all Bryan ??
