I agree, the spring type originally fitted on these Hoover models is impossible to refit. The answer is to buy and fit the adjustable wire retainer which supersedes the spring type on these models.

Is he aware there are 8 different variants of ADP8322 and identifying the correct programmed user board requires the 12NC? I’ve never come across a user board failure on this dishwasher platform, so the diagnosis does seem potentially dubious.

Did you use sensor drying on your “ancient dryer” or a timed program? If timed, that might well explain the difference in drying performance. Although it may not be drying so thoroughly, your new dryer should be using less energy.

Three observations that may be relevant (1) duvets are best buttoned up before washing and drying to stop them swallowing other items which can impair spinning and drying (2) to achieve a higher energy efficiency rating, modern sensor dryers are calibrated to achieve the bare minimum level of drying permitted by the test. Drying settings on some brands, notably Bosch/Siemens, can be fine tuned through the settings menu, so it’s worth checking the user manual to see if that’s possible on your Blomberg (3) when fabrics are hot they feel damper than they really are – shake out to cool and they quickly feel much dryer.

Homespares and Maddocks are also worth checking out. Breadth of stock nowhere near as good as ASWO, particularly for Homespares but the service seems good.

Not that I agree with Brexit. I think that was a terrible decision – bad for trade, bad for the economy and bad for international relations, and no real benefit for ordinary people.

As the goods are tax and duty paid, provided ASWO generate the right documentation, for which they seem to have a well-oiled machine, there should be no reason to interact with customs. Spot checks are a possibility, but I can’t think why a properly documented delivery from ASWO would raise any suspicion with UK customs. As I said, I have never knowingly experienced a delay in delivery from ASWO due to customs, and 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} arrive next day. Perhaps there is a difference between ports of arrival – mine generally come through East Midlands.

The only significant delay I can remember was package that had accidentally been given 2 address labels – one correct and the other in North America. The parcel spent the best part of a week being batted to and fro between continents.

ASWO UK is a UK registered company and registered for UK VAT, so there should be no need to deal with customs. There is a customs clearance process for parcels sent from France to UK which shows up on the DHL tracking, but the process is seemingly automatic and over probably around 100 deliveries I don’t remember a delay due to customs. I’ve had a few next day deliveries sent by by Chronopost/DPD which so far seem less reliable, but I think that is down to the courier.

Manufacturers don’t put much investment into powders any more and the products probably don’t perform as well as they did 15 years ago. In addition, they probably contain fewer fillers, to reduce manufacturing and transport costs, save space on supermarket shelves and reduce environmental pollution.

Your suspicions are correct. Bosch heat pumps all come in brown paper taped boxes, scrunched paper inner packing, worm drive clip and labelled with the usual “Genuine” branded BSH label. Most distributors have dabbled with passing off pattern or OEM as genuine on selected lines for years, most often for elements and door seals, but occasionally other parts, so this is nothing new, though it is rare for Bosch items, as the packaging is so consistent.

Maddocks and Homespares are up and running with reliable next day delivery. Qualtex delivery can vary, but usually 24-48 hours. ASWO have by far the most extensive stock, with reliable next day delivery from Paris, and rarer items relayed across from Germany a few days later.

But anything not in stock, go direct to the manufacturer – usually for the best prices. Bosch, Electrolux, Fisher & Paykel, Miele, Whirlpool all sell direct, most with trade discount, and delivery usually 2-4 days.

Does anyone know the current position with Connect? I keep looking for parts, but nearly all stock lines I search for are now showing as temporarily out of stock. Are they short of cash, or are they just running the business down?

My mum had a Keymatic for a while, I’m guessing late 60s, but the repair shop in the local high street called out so often to repair it, my mum soon ditched it for a 2nd hand single tub with mangle someone at our church wanted to get rid of. I can can only vaguely remember the Keymatic but in the absence of many toys, the program cards were likely a source of entertainment, as was the mangle, along with the lid-operated spin dryer which came later.
