ParticipantRe: Customer Care
Had a good example of poor sales advice today.
Think it was from Comet. Customer had gone in looking for a frost free f/f. She was approached by the spotty young know it all who asked if she needed any help.
She explained she wanted the f/f and it was to go in the garage. Oh no madam you can’t have a f/f in the garage, as in the winter the freezer won’t work 😕 .
So know it all procedes to sell her a conventional defrost it yourself KGV which of course is affected by ambient temperature :haier: . Also the dozy get has done himself out of some commission as the KGV is considerably cheaper than the KGU f/f 😆

Yup flooded base.
Drain it off, find leak, fix leak Bobs yer uncle 😉
BTW the F will remain in display for a while once drained, just let it run for a bit.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint DF61 D/W heater box leak?
Greg, we certainly aint trained to do it that longwinded way 🙄
As I’ve said previously on this subject, I tend to just lift the right hand side up a bit if I’m in a rush.
If I’ve got time then I’ll take the tank off, it really isn’t that bad a job once you’ve done a few 😉

These ovens were a bog standard cheap as chips buiders package. There are no hinge carriers.
The frame twists and that is that, oven is a gonner.

ParticipantRe: Bosch KTR1572GB/44 fridge freezing up
The frost pattern, should basically be frozen droplets of water. If it is really thick ice then yup you’ve got problem.
Does the light go out when the door is closed?, and is the door seal made all the way round.
If these are OK then I would consider calling an engineer as it may be a system fault, as opposed to stat fault.

It seems to be even from top to most of the way down.
Then that is ok. That is the way the fridge works.
Make sure nothing is touching the back wall. What temp setting is the fridge set to?.

If McClaren has any steel in him
Yer jokin aren’t yer. McClaren will stick with his favourites, as he’s done at Boro for the last five years ❗ ❗ . Regardless of player form he will pick the same team over and over again.
This World Cup when England have played in every game, it’s been just like watching Boro. If the opposition have a corner all our players end up in the 18 yard box. For FIVE years our crowd have been watching that stupid tactic.
England’s loss = Boro’s gain I’m affraid fellas.

ParticipantRe: Help! Can’t get Neff panel off!!
Oh joy!!!!!!!!!!!
I find an old chisel does the job nicely. Just knock a notch in the screw head, then using hammer and chisel hit the bastard in anti clock direction. Obviously taking care not to tw@t the liner 😉 .
The beauty is you only need do it on the bottom two screws, once they’re out just pull the panel towards you and the top two will come out no problem.
As for the fan, if you grip the shaft with pump pliers or similar then spin the blade this should free it off. If not some heat from blow lamp works a treat.
Don’t be tempted to drill the fan blade, causes loads of bother 🙁 .BTW the newer models have torx head screws instead of posi, much better idea.

ParticipantRe: Vehicle Tracker
We had them fitted to our vans a good few years ago.
Then out of the blue about six months or so ago a geezer came and “reprogrammed” them. Was told by said geezer that this stopped the tracker sending out it’s signal 😕 .
I was told the company found the license etc. to expensive to be of benefit. Personally I have my doubts as to the fact that it has been disabled.
Cynical, moi 😆
