ParticipantRe: black gunk
Cheers for that guys.
The reason I thought it must be something in the water is because I get a lot of problems with it blocking up the pressure chambers and heat exchangers on our dishwashers.

ParticipantRe: black gunk
But why did it not used to happen ❓
It’s only in the last couple of years that I’ve had the problem
Is is something they’ve stopped/started putting in the water 😕

ParticipantRe: Dishwasher Engineers 2??
Doesn’t matter what you say really as I, and suspect many others who add input on this board have qualifications and certificates that say we are
ENGINEERS
And the really good thing is it obviously really annoys you.

It may say that in the destructions, but I rinse my pots before putting them in the dishwasher.
I also advise ALL customers to do the same. :lesson:

Aw, is he really not coming back again 🙁
I miss him now.
He was like a little toy that you could wind up every now and again then watch the results 😆 .

ParticipantRe: Dishwasher Engineers?
No you’re the f***ing insult mate.
I hold many qualifications and I’m sure many of the other guys on here do too.
I have been to many appliances that so called PROPER ENGINEERS have tried to repair themselves, and have made a complete and utter balls up of it all.
I hope your dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washer, microwave and washer all go wrong. Then when the REPAIR MAN turrns up he takes a p**s in them all.
BTW can you say that you enjoy your job and get job satisfaction, because I know I can.

specifically at the end of it where it reaches a small chamber which has a red plastic float valve alongside it. (This is at the bottom of the large flat water tank on the side of the machine – I don’t know what this part is called
The grease you have moved from the sump hose is now settled in the pressure chamber. The “fix” you have done will do as a temporary measure.
However, the the large flat tank (side chamber and heat exchanger) needs to be removed from the pressure chamber. The pressure chamber can then be either replaced or cleaned out thoroughly. While the m/c is in this state also remove and clean the sump hose.
If you get an engineer in it should take no longer than half an hour to do. If you’re going to do it yourself, again power off please :plug:

ParticipantRe: bosch freezer temperature problem
Some one did suggest emptying it, leaving it to wind down to nothing for two or three days and then “rebooting” it !!
Yes, sounds like the freezer evaporator has frozen up. Fully defrost it by turning off and leaving it for at least 24 hours.
If the problem re-occurs then I would suggest you call an engineer, as there may be a problem with the defrost cycle.

ParticipantRe: Overactive Siemens
I assume everything meggers out ok on the m/c ❓
I certainly haven’t come accross that fault before, it’s a bit of a weird one alright 😕
My gut feeling would be the same faulty module.

The water in the base is definately the problem. It has activated the anti flood switch.
You will have an internal leak somewhere, find and repair that and all will be good as new 😉
I would recommend having it at least looked at, then make your decision as to fix it or not.
Power off first please if you’re going in again yourself :plug:

Ok Greg I’ll help you on this one 😉
Change the URL from level 2 to level 3. You have to think very hard on this game and read EVERYTHING 😉
As the game progresses things get worse, I’m stuck on level 9 now and my brain hurts 🙁

The way you’re going at the minute you’ll have spent more on spares than on getting an expert in to sort it.
As Gegsy said, these are sophisticated beasts and remote diagnosis is difficult at best.
Do yourself a favour and ring an expert.
