    Re: Minor Brands!

I have been making my living out of obscure makes over the last forty two years.
Seen alot of the makes mentioned come into the country, use the Independent retailers and service companies to get established. Even D&G started that way, under a different name, (Thompson Bull, and I think a different name before that). Then move on to the National companies Like Mastercare, Homecare, for National coverage. Or get taken over by the likes of Candy, Merloni, Whirlpool.
When they are unknown they pay the going rate. When they get big they try to own you. I am long in the tooth now, so can afford to tell the big boys to shove it. I can still make my money from my client base, and the obscure makes. Especially if you know where to go for the spares, that can include the original manufacturers european factory in some cases.

    Re: UK Trades Confederation?

According to my security check this site is suspect, therefore advice do not open

If you want an organisation with plenty of whats in it for me join the Federation of Small Businesses at least they have clought in high places, and are consulted before legislation is passed.

For Hampshire the contact point is the Wessex Regional office at:-
Christchurch Business Centre Grange Road Christchurch BH23 4JD
Telephone contact Karen Bladen 01425 280080
    E-Mail wessex@fsb.org.uk
There are four branches in Hampshire. Eleven through out the whole region of Dorset Hampshire & Isle of Wight.
With a membership exceeding 180,000 businesses in the UK. I feel it can stand alone or complement membership of a trade organisation.

A word of caution on Data collection.
Register with the Data Protection Agency, no matter how small you are, because as soon as you use the information outside of a personal record you break the law.
Even personal comments added to the record can be an infringment.
This now also includes paper records.
    Just a reminder.

    Re: Aruki/ASPT

I have been on their website today, they appear to be another PATTERN PART manufacturer, there are no genuine parts shown on the site that I can see. Nowhere to compare prices and the only address shown is Singapore, with no list a UK base listed. So I will stay with ‘Qualtex’.

Sovereign Appliance Marketing (01527 57833) In the Haier cooler range do a silent 60 litre cooler.
Electrolux sold off the Leisure wing but I cannot remember what it changed it’s name to. If you call in to your local caravan specialist/Dealer I dare say the will have a sales sheet. I think the biggest fridge is 75 litre

    .

The majority go straight to them to complain against bad trading practices or whatever.

Martin this is where you may get asked to help compile a report for them, assuming there are not to many of our trade on their approved list in your area.

    Re: Beware this scam

This one has been going for about a year now.
Another scam going for a while is an offer to launder money from South Africa, In return for your Bank details they will transfer money into your account, You take 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} and transfer the balance into another account. What they actually do is empty your account.

    Re: Electrue/NESN

Any NESN agents affected who are members of the FSB should contact the legal department for advice and register NOW incase NESN decide to be vindictive.
This could only cost you a phone call. But save you pounds in legal costs.

    Re: Blocked drains?

nine times out of ten the parcial/blockage is at the second elbow as it leaves the property for the drain. Most times I just re-run the drain pipe, this way I will get my charge with no hassle. Dyno-rod will inevitably fail to find the partial blockage, tell the customer the pipe is clear, and we do not know what we are talking about. IF the pipe disappears under the floor or into the inside walls I walk away.
