    Re: Gas Safety Question

Plastic fittings are not approved for Gas. Would repot it to gas safe or RIDDOR if you feel your not being taken seriously and to cover yourself

Depends on model but some of the later models have a solenoid diverter valve. What was the original fault?

Seams correct to me. Is there a one shot cutout in the element circuit normally on the back of the oven cavity some where?

    Re: WASHING MACHINE PRICE 1973

I bought a Creda washer dryer in 1987 from the factory shop for £437 with 33{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} staff discount now your had pressed to by a washer dryer for that price.
2 sets of bearings and I can’t remember how many sets of carbons later it was replaced in 2009 with a Samsung washer that touch wood hasn’t faulted yet but only cost £200 don’t think it will last that long!!!

I think you may have released the motor brushes and they are now making contact. Check the brushes they should be about 1 inch or more if they are only about 1/2 inch then replace. Common fault on Hotpoint where door locks but nothing else happens

Have you looked at the evaporator in the freezer? It may be blocked with ice preventing air flow to the top of freezer and the fridge. If so defrost heater at a guess

    Re: hotpoint BU72 oven

If your sure both elements are working it can only be the thermostat if the door is sealing correctly
