ParticipantSeems that the repair I did to the dishwasher have worked. No further issues

ParticipantI think I have found a leak – leaking on the rear corner from what appears to be between the plastic base and metal skin, it does looks it is one of those old common faults with plastic tanks where it leaks at the seams. The factory fitted braces weren’t quite up the job as there are no sealant “rope” between the gaps.
Seems rather perverted that I have to take out the factory fitted braces and replace with tank sealing kit equipped with new braces, sealant rope, and lower rotor arm. I left it with the customer to see how she got on. If it went well without issues then I’ll be blowed! Watch this space…

ParticipantHollytree_Technical wrote:Looking in the all the service manuals that I have lists E73 as “Fault in NTC sensor on drying duct (voltage out of range, short-circuit or open circuit)”
I agree with Dave on this one – remove the tape from the wires to the NTC on the dryer duct and you will probably find the fault.
Jem
Thanks Dave and Jem,
found the fault lies within the wires to the NTC hidden behind the tape. It was on the bend where it flexes in the void between the dryer duct and the top carcass, it made a clean break on both wires. Repaired the connection by rejoining and strengthening the bend by stiffening up.twicknix

Dave
Thankyou, got the info and the machine came up with E73 which suggests washing machine thermostat. I was given this code by “google” 1328302003. Trying to pinpoint where is this is located? Seems odd that the dryer not responding and the info implies it’s the washing machine heating, maybe both are interconnected?

ParticipantNo fault code. How to do service mode?

Timing have changed, internet have dominated the market and Screwfix as a brand is extremely successful that nearly every tradesmen uses the branch as well Toolstation. Time will tell. It is a worrying trend if whitegoods spares become available via Screwfix branches that other tradesmen like plumbers/electricians would dabble on whitegoods repairs themselves.

Participantfunkyboogy wrote:if its got one of those little pressure switches in the sump, its more than likely that part no [h=1]140000554083[/h] when you remove switch, i would also use a small tube – to connect to where the pressure switch is fitted and blow steam in the sump , making sure its clean and free of sludge, etc
then fit new switch
cheers ally
Thanks, used compressed air to blow it out, connected new pressure sensor and fill sump with a couple of drops of rinse aid and half a litre of water to let it stand for 10 mins then start up dishwasher. This will stop the recurring fault as the new sensor will not work with the empty sump. Happened to me few times and found that my solution seems to have worked (?)

the inverter you need the numbers off it will be something like F606y etc printed on the coil
has inverter burnt out? have you checked. normally blows internal fuse when they do
Dave
Internal fuse is ok which is odd?
Definitely it is the inverter blown as smelt burning and blackening of pcb on the inverter board.
Strange that ASWO usually offer alternative part and I have selected the Panasonic one but not for the inverter. Will look again and thank you for your help.twicknix

Dave
Interesting… do you have the cross reference codes for this and compare against Panasonic? I’ve yet to hear from the owner, I think they were freaked out by the cost of new parts. If I come up with the Panasonic equivalent at much lower prices then they may calm down. Thanks in advance

ParticipantThank you very much and I shall order the parts…

ParticipantI regularly visit connect trade counter for obvious reasons that I happen to live in the Birmingham area. I can say that there have been a huge changes on the staffing levels and few key people are noticeably absent. There were some redundancies and some were redeployed elsewhere. This has a direct impact on the level of services.
It does seems that the stock levels aren’t what it was previously for something so common especially along the line “this is stock level, not in stock and will order one shortly”. The trouble is that this is becoming far too common that ASWO have beaten them to it by having far better stock levels.
I question if it is worth staying with Connect due to the appalling stock availability?
Can anyone provide me a list of alternative suppliers that I can use easily so I have a fallback plan to go to? I fear the days of using Connect as a reliable supplier is coming to an end and that their focus has shifted elsewhere.
