Thanks for that Don, I am keeping an open mind. (Promise) Even though my head hurts with all the grief of it all.
I also studying Kwatt’s very kind enclosure about the ISE10. Most of the local independant’s around here in Yellow Pages don’t stock the ISE, one guy said he may be able to source one, ring him back after 3pm. Another was could service it, if required. One guy I rang this morning, I may have talked in Mandarin, he hadn’t a clue.
My trip to John Lewis’s was very helpful, they gave me plenty of literature to take away, and I was quite impressed with their own range of machines. One of them is German Engineering with a 3yr warranty and for another £70 extends that to 5yrs. £359 +£70 +£9 removal of old whirly =£438. I have also looked at an Electrolux Insight with Time Management gizmo, which would work out at £539 with 5yr cover.
I am now going to do battle with insurance people, see at least if I can get a better upgrade or some sort of settlement.

Then if that is the case, it will be crossed off my list. Just type Beko into the search facility on this site, enough said!

Morning Kwatt,
I am about to commence “Operation Machine” this morning. I have my Yellow Pages at the ready. If you could send me info on the ISE 10 that would be great. I was having a quick peak at John Lewis’s Website last night, they have a branch in town that used to be Bainbridge’s & I am provisionally considering a Miele W1512. I am also prepared to keep an open mind on their own branded machine JLWM1407 and maybe extend the 3yr warranty to a 5yr. I may catch the metro into town later on this morning.
Of course it all hinders on “Neanderthal Tightwad” (my husband) who has been banging his club last night. The not so enlighted Mr. WQ sees nothing wrong with offer of a Free Beko as it were. As according to him, “It’s just a washing machine pet, they aal worrk the same way man”.
I shall remind him of that if we take delivery of the Beko & the house burns down in 2 month due to it’s dodgy motor.
The joys of being married.

I am in Newcastle upon Tyne my dear Kwatt.
I was going to phone around in the morning, someone suggested White & McCarthy at Morpeth & Hargreaves in Berwick upon Tweed.WQ

at last, a consumer with common sense. and its good to see you’ve also taken in what people have said
i’ve no dealings with ise machines, on paper, and from what the guys on here say, they look a quality item, solidly built and reliable, but i wouldnt like to comment, that wouldnt be fair, since, as i say, ive never come across one!
now… beko… remember our other conversation, the one where i just said the word ‘flavel’?
the reason i said that was because most flavel cookers, as with leisure , and , unfortunately some other very well known makes are all made by the same group… and that group includes BEKO
whilst im sure there are people out there that have been very happy with their beko appliance, they in no way stand up to a whirlpool in terms of build quality.. and parts availability is crap.
now , what would i do? since the insurers want to GIVE u a beko as a replacement, id let em deliver it, sell it on ebay, boxed, and put the money towards something that would make you, hopefully , happy
i really hope this helps. ive really enjoyed reading your posts, like i say its good to have someone around who asks the questions and takes the advice on board!!
good luck, let us know what u decide to do
Ah Shucks you have me glowing now. 😳
I wondered what you meant the other day when you said the F word. LOL! (Flavel) Thanks for the Warning! I am sure the guys at Comet think I am some sort of Price Check Person, because I have been in & out, looking at Cookers as of late & now it’s going to be a new washer. (SIGH)WhirlpoolQueen

Hi Martin,
Thanks for your advice. I am actually toying with the idea of telling the insurance people no ta to the Beko & paying out of my own pocket for an ISE. The only thing is that on the web site the North East isn’t covered for some reason.
At the very least I think the insurance lot should make a contribution even if its only £50.

LOL! You make me sound like an Ogre! I am just very disappointed with my Creda Reflection Cooker. It is certainly nothing like my trusty Creda of old but I guess looking at the majority of the market now, its quick term profit before reliability. – My husband’s late father was the manager of the British Gas Showroom in Wallsend, and he swore by Cannon Gas Cookers. I wonder what he would have made of today’s ones? Again maybe I am just being fussy and want everything to last 20yrs…….(wishful thinking)

I am having the same problem myself. All I have seen up to now is pure rubbish. I would have recommended Creda but as you will from some of my earlier postings, I was horrified to discover it is a Merloni/Hotpoint in disguise & I have had nothing but bother with mine.
It seems there is no such thing as a decent cooker unless your loaded and can afford an Aga.

We have since time began for life on earth, gazed and looked upon the moon with awe and wonder. So is it any wonder that such a world renown an amazingly innovative company such as is Indesit should choose the name for their latest product?…..THE MOON…….wow! 😯
Not really!….No big deal as it happens, and so very appropriate a choice of name if you reckon up? :rolls:
Blindingly obvious really……… 8)
From NEW moon to FULL moon takes 29.5 days on average. And that is almost exactly the length of the new Indesit’s wash cycle……….clever INDESIT……… 😆
I commend you on your “Sales Patter”, but it still wouldn’t tempt me to buy one. – Now, convince me as to why I should want an ISE?
LOL!

I somehow don’t think your going to miss much! It makes a Haier look desirable. 😆
Still shame on them for not allowing you an evaluation model. Clearly they need lessons in PR Management. Of course it sounds to me, like a case of sour grapes/Professional Jealousy because of the success of your ISE Machine.

My neighbour has just rang to tell me, her son has come and looked at it. Apparently the trip switch had gone knocking all the kitchen sockets off. It has been reset and all appears well.
On behalf of my neighbour Lilly, Thanks for your help.

Bless you Don, I shall go next door now with the number.
I must admit I have never heard of them, but my neighbour tells me it was cheap £139 & has a two yr warranty. – Looking at it, it is a very basic machine. Many Thanks – WQ

Glad you got it sorted, next time may I suggest you have a butchers at these chaps.
Despite their one or two negative ratings, I woudn’t let that put you off, I managed to get a Refurbished Vax Cadence (1yr Guarantee) for £9.27 + £10 Courier Fee. Delivery was next day by ANC, & I have been very impressed. The same one in Tesco was £59.99.
