A lot of shop own brand labels from the big sheds can show leaks. Come across loads during the last couple of years. All made in PRC

The guys from Comet in Coatbridge who are going over are starting £22,500 for laundry only , raising to £24,500 to £26,500 for gas and refrigeration system repairs plus O/T and OTE bonuses for cleaner and insurance sales.

smartin wrote:as one of the comet engineers screwed over by op capita, i would be interested in the exact figures of how many staff have actually been made redundant, in my opinion they have been very clever in making people redundant in dribs and drabs.
im am pretty sure that if in the begining they said several thousand people were being laid off, there would be questions asked in parliment.. as there always has been when a national employer goes down this road. especially considering the current climate. We won’t know the full figures until the 31st July as that’s when Hull, Harlow and the final Engineers go and depends on how many Brown goods opt for bench jobs at Skelmersdale. I ‘d say approx just over 1000 bodies in total give or take a hundred, that’s including the shop staff that have gone due to store closures.

If it’s just the chargeable work that Comet have been doing the last couple of years that you are doing then I wish you and your company luck. Who will be funding the website for chargeable work as I know they paid a substantial amount for the advertising rights on the Google search engine. Are you still working on the basis of nothing over 5 years old, parts up to £150 only and offer them a D&G policy instead for a lower amount to cover the appliance for 12 months.

And the initials of your contact. As I have said before, all Hotpoint / Indesit / BSH / Hoover / Electrolux / GDHA / Whirlpool have gone to the manufacturers and own brand ( Proline, Haier etc) to Repaircare. PM me them if you don’t want to publicly state them. If your right then I will wind my neck in and state that you are genuine.

That’s pretty vague considering that all the calls will be going through Comet’s Clevedon site which is not affected by the redundancies. Hull is used for complaints and escalations which are being transferred to Clevedon. The only work that doesn’t go through Clevedon first would be any D&G work so I am assuming your D&G or a D&G agent. The majority of white goods engineers are being picked up by the manufacturers as they need guys to pick up the Comet work. Lets just say I know what I’m talking about and know who is getting the work and to be honest have never heard of GOLOCALREACTIVE. Perhaps you could put the initials down of the person at Comet who is passing your company the contracts. If it matches up to the person who I know is doing the job then I will stand corrected

Not sure who this guy is or who the company is but the majority of Comets work including insurance work is going back to the manufacturers and the rest is being mopped up by Repaircare. Never heard of this other company.

deffo BSH because Hoover / Candy are not doing Gas. They sub contract all gas work according to the Service manager at Bolton. All the major manufacturers are recruiting. Hotpoint, Hoover , Bosch , Whirlpool , Baumatic , GDHA , Service Force , and 0800 REPAIR , REPAIRCARE and Brighthouse. Lots of work out there if you want it.
