go back to drawing things on yer pc adam, and leave the advice to people who have actually taken the top off a machine.
yes miele are good, but, the point in question isnt about longevity or quality, but the fact that long term, parts can and should be widely available to the trade and general public at large at a reasonable price.. and that in its own way is wrong
creating a machine that is, invariably repairable only by their own engineers isnt ethical, nor is it fair
i repair things adam, i dont pretend to be an expert in kitchen fitting because i saw my dad put a worktop on once… have you ( or anyone else) noticed i hardly ever advise on dishwashers?
because i hate them i repair them when i have to.. but i dont consider myself an expert
thats why i dont generally comment on the ise, ive never seen one, or were even aware they existed until i joined this site
HOWEVER the guys here are fully aware of them, and swear by them.. and thats not because theyve read which, or theyre in the hilton, its because, ultimately they can provide a substatial service to the customer, something that seems to have been lost by some of the larger companies that care more for profit than customers.
ok, so they make money out of it, but they are traders, thats why they do it!
Now adam, stop chatting bubbles, if your confused, read ‘which’ – time and time again, its been pointed out that you know very little, and have sparked many a healthy debate over your magazine quoting, and little knowledge fuelled by what you read in the press
the core of guys on here are genuine, honest traders, some with 25 years+ experience, they do this for no financial gain whatsoever, and their knowledge,is, in many cases second to none, ive learned a hell of a lot from these guys, and im sure the guys will say the same for me
what have they learned from you ?
i rest my case
I’m not sure if you remember Helo, but in another thread, you asked me why I wasnt able to get a job in Comet (thankfully I work somewhere much better). I think I know why. I do understand what you are saying, but you don’t need to put it in such an insolent and disrespectful way like how you have. So is that how you got into Comet then? Speaking in a insolent and rude way, obviously it does help. I hate to wonder if you actually speak to your customers like that. If I was a customer listening to that, I would of walked out the shop straightaway!

Hi Adam
I would really would like you to come out with one of us engineers so we can get you out of your never never land and see what your really polite and hob knob customers are really like to the engineers when their appliances break down.
You can forget the niceties of your cloud cuckoo land,They think that they are gods gift and the whole world revolves round them..Sorry to inform you adam but these same people give as much ignorance that any yob can give.Bryan

Enough, gents – lets keep it civilised.
Adam, you bring a lot of this on your own head through your intransigence. Helo, you’re rising to the bait.
Back on topic please.

Hey Helo, don’t apologise on our account. Speaking your mind is what forums are all about.

ParticipantAdam, I’d respectfully suggest that you further your education a little and learn not to misuse the word “insolent”
Insolence is defined in the OED as” being offensively contemptuous or insulting.”
Methinks maybe “patronising” was the word you were looking for…but neither applies to yourself, anyway!
How can a mature and wise adult possibly be insolent to an ill-informed, callow youth?
Agreed, Mr. T….this is great entertainment and should be kept in the public domain.

The entertainment is all well and good; the point surely is that we have had a mature and intelligent discussion with regard to modern “better” products and production and service ethos. Being a debate, we’re not all going to agree and I don’t have a problem with that. It is unfortunate that the threads do get heated and will wander off topic.
Perhaps we need a “Naughty Corner” where disgruntled posters can slug it out between themselves, out of the main discussion. :snig:

When I was in the market last year for a new machine, I was very tempted to go down the ISE route. The only reason I didn’t was that was no supplier listed for the North East where I live, & it wasn’t until I bought the Miele machine, that Kwatt pointed out they could have supplied me with one, but it was too late!
I do have a Miele machine which I bought from John Lewis’s in town, yes it is quiet, yes it washes well, but it has needed a couple of service calls within the first year, & if am honest I do regret buying in my haste now.

Im not sure callow would be a good word either, I am actually mature for my age.
For further entertainment, could we have a thread on politics please? Because you aint seen anything, unless i start ranting on about that! 😉 I think I get it from my grandad, who is out of hospital now which is good news. -
