According to an newish Fix it manual, it places Caple under the Fagor group.

No Penguin, I meant that if they can make something as reliable as a tower crane, then they must be good for fridges.

And saying that Liebherr make tower cranes, mining trucks and excavators, so i think they would know something about fridges wouldn’t you?

    Re: Most ridiculous part price

Hahaha errors what a load of tripe, they only say that to fob you off, when we were fixing our Vax, the part that needed replacing was £12 from partsmaster (currys own) for just a bit of plastic, we ended up fixing it our self for nothing really, just a bit of superglue, and a hard plastic bottle top and a drill and bobs your uncle, a perfectly good working hoover for nothing.

The plastic ball, you mention about, is the ‘eco ball’. it stops detergent from escaping during washing, thats definitely supposed to be there.

Thanks Don for the advice, the kitchen was the madison range so not cheap, but only cost us £1500 for the lot, units, appliances, worktops, sink/tap and even the display props.

How about Caple, is there any further information on their wine chillers, like whether there good or not and what brand they really are and their origin?

As far as i know, i’ve not seen any dishwasher with a A+ energy rating, only washers and fridges.

    Re: VAX Cyclonic Upright Vacuum

Sorted! After taking it to pieces we found a plastic collar where the belt is and it was broken around half of it. My dad and I, took an old plastic container top and machined it into a washer, we then superglued it onto the exsisting collar, and hey presto, i managed to hoover the whole house without it burning. Only £24.50 for 2 belts and a filter set, 1 hours work an old container top and a lot of persistence equals one perfectly good vacuum!
