Re: cooker with 6 months warranty

    Hi Fasetester

That depends on the terms and conditions of sale.

It may well state that it is a return to base warranty and the buyer assumes the cost of returning the cooker. This is not against the sale of goods act as if it was stated in the terms and conditions to which the customer agreed to when purchased then the buyer will be liable to return the appliance to the customer at there cost. This is normally where a graded or refurbished product is sold.
The customer will need to check the terms and conditions of the sale.

    Hi

You can get the existing holes filled and the new holes cut for the new appliance.Any kitchen fitter can do this without a problem.

Getting another appliance will not guarantee that the holes will match exactly.

    Hi

After about 5 years and our contract we had with a tracking company which worked out good at the start but on renewal became expensive I have fitted these to the vans and personal car and caravan and have had no problems what so ever. The seller will even set it up for you to what you want the settings to be before they are dispatched so are as easy as plug and play. we use lyca mobile and it auto tops up every few months and it costs approx £20 a year if that. It has all the functions that the more expensive ones have also but at a fraction of cost. Can e mail us when the van moves out of a pre determined area, speed, ign on/off ect.

When it comes to changing the vehicles then you just remove and refit into the new one.

Takes approx 30 to do dependent on if you want them hidden or not or how hidden.

Re: Paul Bocuse Rosiers Cooker – Oven and fan issue

    Hi

Easy way to test which elements are working.. turn the oven on with the door open and the shelves taken out.

after a couple of minutes quickly touch the base of the oven in the centre. If this is not getting warm but the top element is then it will need a base element.

On the R/H oven take out the roller unit which will show you the bottom element.. do the same again but don’t touch as this one gets red hot if working.

There are two types of Rosiers Fan assisted oven which is conventional with a push button to operate the fan next to the oven switch and a true fan oven which has a round element round the fan motor.

    R/H is conventional .

    Re: Gorenje dishwasher GV60010 TOC

    Hi

Common fault was cured by changing the pressure switch. If you added approx 1 ltr more water into it the pump flowed the water correctly unto the top spray arm.
Gorenje replaced all stock of pressure switches to the new on after 4 weeks to changing every part and the fault was still there. Whilst watching the wash while it was stripped down you could see the water flow not fully going up the rear pipe..added 1ltr of water cured it and stopped the thermostats failing.

    Re: Samsung fridge freezer explodes!

    Hi Martin

Looks like you didn’t read the samsung thread that ran for years with exactly this result. Or it could be your age and memory playing up again.

It only causes a problem when customers ignore the warning signs or fuses tripping and then just resetting or changing the plug fuse. The fuse / trip would have tripped more than a few times before this happened. But as it then restarted and worked for another 8 hours the customer ignored it. So there is fault to be put on both sides.. One for Samsung for designing a Defrost heater with the fault of shorting at a particular place and not sorting the problem out earlier. the customer is fault for ignoring the warning signs and just kept replacing the fuse or resetting it.

If I would expect the appliance had NOT had the fuse mod carried out then how much more can samsung do if the customer doesn’t reply or ignore a massive TV and newspaper coverage..did they just sit in a cave without tv or never read a newspaper I doubt it but more likely ignored it.

As for cars..Petrol tanks have electrical components right next to them and do corrode and do go on fire so should we ban cars or petrol ? And in actual fact chip pan and friers cause the majority of fires in the home but I don’t see those been banned.

You would actually know this based on what evidence? That is correct – none.

    Considering your own signature:

“That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.”

You would want to take your own advice.

You know exactly that you do not know – So do not comment.

They are all my machines (3), which I got from people who were throwing them out because they either had stopped functioning or they got new ones

I take an interest in repairing things and am not some ‘fly by night’ repair man who botches the machines of others as you seem to suggest – I will leave that to certain ‘professionals’

It would have been better if someone actually came up with a constructive answer – like a picture of the affected resistor – that is why I posted my picture. I could have then worked out the resistance from the code as same is burned on mine and attempted to replace it.

As for ‘stuffing’ the machine, well I am sorry that I repaired it a few days after a close relative died and was not concentrating on the condensation that had built up in the shed on the machine from the previous night.

I am very sorry that I did not check here for expert advice first regarding the specifics of the dew point.
