Re: Thermostat failing on my Nardi fridge freezer

    Hi there,

Thanks for the reply – I’ve been taking a closer look at the stat: the wire coming out the back is somewhat smaller than I originally described(!) – about 2mm and DOES get cold when the fridge is on.

However, the stat never warms up enough for the strip to move over enough to restart the condensor.

I can’t get the plate details – the whole thing is bolted into a unit, so I’m looking at replacing the stat with one that just works off the fridge temperature.

Can you advise me where I can get a good one from? (I live in East London).

    Cheers,
    Trevor

    Re: Kenwood KDW12SS nightmare!

Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried tipping it forward as i read in another thread in order to reset the machine but it just got water all over the floor (the door was closed though!)

Look forward to hearing from any of you soon.

    Dan.

    Hi Weirdjam

    Thanks for the reply.
I thought that excess icing might be a problem especially as one of the kids had set the freezer temp at -21C instead of -19C, so have left it all day to defrost. Thought I would leave it 24 hours and then see what happens.

Thanks for the ray of hope that a new door might be needed. It’s the bit of the lever that goes round one of the pivots that’s broken. Seems OTT to have to replace a whole door for the sake of a bit of plastic about 5mm across!

Unfortunately, I can’t find the guarantee, although I did buy with a credit card, so have the date of the purchase. Would Samsung accept that, do you think?

    Re: Smeg A2 spares

    Hi

try this as this fault with the burners cutting out may well be caused by the knob.

turn the burner on as normal but remove the knob, then light the burner using a match whilst holding the knob shaft in,if it stays lite when you let go then you could just need a couple of knobs.

    Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 ( AWD 10 UK ) Problem – please h

Hi there, I was just searching for some ideas about this model of washer. I also have the misfortune to own the same machine. it suffered this problem while under warranty and the engineer changed the control board, motor and a sensor. It has now gone again and after reading all the above think I will just bin it. I am going for a Miele as we use them on our subs and they are in use 24hrs a day 6 days a week with very few problems. they are a bit pricey but you can get a 10 year warranty with some of them.

    Re: Bosch Dishwasher not draining

Cheers guys, I had the same problem and the supplied manual was no help.

The black rubber non-return valve was the culprit for me too.

The power of google and the willingness of clever buggers to share their knowledge is an amazing tool these days 😀

Re: Can you recommend these Whirlpool models ?

Whilst the whirlpool appliances will work they are a long way from being the better end of the market.
As Furniture prices are hugely profitable for these companies the appliances can seem bargins as the massive profit margin(70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}) on the furniture allows false discounts on the appliances.

You always get what you pay for and Whirlpool are no worse or better than many other manufacturers in their price bracket imo.
