    Thanks

    K.

In what way? I assume the machines are all a std size, and I managed to get the door off easily enough (assuming you mean the panel which matches the kitchen) so I’m hoping it would go on a new one easily too! 😕

To me, accessibility isn’t good for repairing these things – there is one large component (which contained the heating element and possibly a pump too) which I imagine you can only change by taking the machine out anyway.

Which brings another question – the heating element (and much of the rest of the machine) had hard deposits and a lot of sludge around it. This is, I guess, partly hard water and partly maybe due to it not having been working right for a bit – food buildup. Mrs S regularly uses Oust, but is that the best way to keep these deposits down? Someone suggested vinegar…or soda.

    Ron,
Did the engineer fix the problem? If so, what was it?

Before I got your advice I had undone and looked at the fittings on the inside and underneath a small black rubber flap valve mark no 28 fell out of the interior somwhere, as I did not see where it came from can you tell me where it is supposed to live.

I found the position for the black rubber flap valve and it all seems to be running at the moment

    Re: Diplomat: repair or new?

Oh, and if I go for the new one, would a semi integrated be fairly easy to fit? Looks to me like it simply has two screws into the worktop above keeping it in place – or am I missing something?

    Re: What’s in a brand?

Thanks for your reply. So you are saying that the two ovens are essentially the same inside. When I have had a quick look at some basic specification the Bosch oven HBN 13M says

    Main Oven 58 Litres
    Force Air Covection 0.79
    Small Oven 30 Litres
    Total Connected Load 4.4kW

    The Neff says
    Main Oven 45 Litres
    Small Oven 30 Litres
    Total Connected Load 4.0kW

What is Total Connected Load and Force Air Covection?
Why do all the Neff ovens sell the ‘Circtherm’ if the Bosch are the same and why is there no mention of it, and the other features Neff list like AquaCleanse?

I’m trying to find the exact technical specifications for all of these listed items and am having problems finding on the manufacturers web site. Can you please guide me to where you are supposed to find them?

Could you give me your opinion on which you would choose and why?

Thank you Penguin 45, you are a star!
I found this post last night and my machine is now working brilliantly again.

you may well have damaged the salt regen unit but it may well be that you will need to keep flushin the system out without any detergent and re adjust the salt usage to use maximum to make the flush faster.have a look in your manual to see how to adjust your salt usage.
and then refill every week for a couple of weeks then reset to normal.
hopefully this may clear your system.

Thank you for this I am not familar with this site so I don’t know if I have used the correct method of reply. The make of dw is Hotpoint. I have checked the manual and can’t see any method of how to release the salt to maximum. We have tried all the suggestions re rinse add dosage spray force regulator. I saw something earlier on the site re using citric acid to remove a build up of limescale would this also help?

    Belay that order 🙂

How sad is this, replying to my own post!!

I found that I just was’t being brutal enough, and that the “second” bolt part just sits in the housing until you push it hard enough!!

Ho hum, off to look at my brushes now.

Re: Bosch Wff2000 – motor not working

How do you get access to get the motor off in the first place.

I reckon I have dead brushes too, but going in from the back it seems as if I have a two stage bolt on the right of the motor which I can get the first bit out but the second part remains (and the motor pivots around it).
The part which comes out is a properly machined bolt (not sheared at all) so I’m at a bit of a loss.

Do I need to have the front off as well to get it off?

Update to What’s in a brand?

I’m buying a new double under the counter electric oven, gas hob and hood for a new kitchen. I want to buy something that will last and looks stylish. I’m current torn between Bosch and Neff, I have read that they are owned by the same big owner, are these listed products just re badged or do they have completely different manufacturing plants and technology? Which one should I choose and why? The Bosch looks to have a better technical spec and a lower price, why?
Where can I get detailed technical specifications?

    Bosch Oven HBN13N550B £600
    Bosch Hob PCD615C £132
    Bosch Hood DKE645DGB £233

    Neff Oven U1722N0GB £634
    Neff Hob T2124NOEU £136
    Neff Hood D8602NOGB £200

    Re: Hoover inter@ct

The latest diagnosis is that the sensor has gone and needs replacing…however we are now waiting for the part.

My one concern is that we are still running the machine (the freezer still works and we’ve got to have some way of storing food), any opinions on whether we are damaging/shorting the life of the machine?

Still, given the forecast for the weekend, opening the fridge door for 5 minutes is as effective as air conditioning! You have to look on the brightside!

Yes, clicks on for 4 seconds and then clicks off again. Thanks, Dave, for the quick reply. Time to go shopping I guess. 🙁
