    Re: Samsung RCS1DCSV

    Hi Weirdjam
Thanks for the reply. I found all the docs including guarantee card, which has no details filled in, but does say it’s covered by Samsung for 2 years.
I rang Samsung who said that because I bought from Comet I would have to contact them, as they buy out the warranties. I rang Comet who said they do cover Samsung warranties but only for one year. I rang Samsung again who said – Hard Luck (or words to that effect) Impressive service eh?

I then spoke to Trading Standards who say they think I have a good case to get Samsung or Comet to get the fault fixed, because on Comet’s receipt it states that they cover the manufacturer’s warranty. I haven’t written yet, but will be doing so.

In the meantime, I’ve defrosted the machine, and it’s going ok at the moment. I have never defrosted it myself before, assuming that it self-defrosts – is that correct?

How can I get the lever fixed?

    Re: Samsung SR-S20

On your model I imagine it is over icing around the accululator (part of the refrigerant system) thus causing the fan to stop or run very sparidically, easiest cure is to whack it on vacation if it has one for 24hrs, this turns off the fridge side but leaves freezer runnning, This will defrost the ice build up. Turn it on and see how you get on.
Could have been caused by power shortage/spike
If it re occurs you will need an engineer.

    Re: Freezer Wobbly !!

How long do you recommend I leave it on fastfreeze in any one time period ?

And how long do I switch it back to ‘normal’ for, obviously keeping the door closed as I dont want unfrozen food 😀

Thanks Dave, I like the sound of it not being too costly 😀

Can you give me any idea on a rough cost just so that I am slightly prepared, I would be very greatful.

    Postcode is S81, Worksop, Notts.

    Thanks again,

Did you ever get the manual? I had the same problem and I cannot work out how to use the dryer function…so I contacted MFI and they were supposed to send me the manual. A month later I am still waiting. I really need to use the dryer!! Anyone help?

Re: Thermostat failing on my Nardi fridge freezer

    Hi Dave,

There’s some kind of serial number (in ink) on the top: A13 0307 B515 000. Nothing engraved except voltage markings.

I’ve also taken a closer look at where the other end of the capiliary goes: it looks like it’s plumbed directly into the end of the cooling pipe in the freezer. Is this something that I can plug the unit you suggested into? It looks like a permanent fixture to me.

    Cheers,
    Trevor
