    Re: Samsung SR-S20

    Hi Dave ,
I’ve got a local engineer coming to have a look at it for me next week. I was hoping to have got my refund from Power Plan for not using my extended warranty but as they went into administration in 2003 that’s that idea out of the window 😡 , now I have to get the engineer to make the invoice to the company handling the administration and stand in line for an unexpected refund !
Mick , mine is doing exactly the same . The temperature display is very eratic , I’ve seen it as low as 2 and as high as 15 but mostly around 10/11 but as you say the food feels chilled , although I have had to throw out some chicken and minced beef that smelt a bit high long before the eat by date so be careful what you eat ❗ .

    Re: LG GR349sqf

I too own an LG GR349SQF Fridge/ Freezer and have experienced something similar to the first post. The fridge appeared to be working as normal, i.e. external LCD showing 3 green lights and the internal lights working once the door was opened.

It wasn’t until going to the freezer, probably 24hrs after the problem had probably initiated, that we noticed that the motor wasn’t working at all and the contents were fully defrosted (we hadn’t had a power-cut in this time).

Upon turning it off/ on at the mains, the motor kicked-in and all appeared well. I put it on quick freeze and on returning to the freezer some hours later, the liquid ice packs I had put in were now frozen (so I turned the quick freeze off leaving 3 lights on the LCD). The following morning all 5 lights were lit, except for the first one (on the left), yet the fridge was still working as normal. Turning it off/on again didn’t resolve the LCD problem, only on the second occasion did it then work, but for only 15 minutes (the motor was not running).

If these symptoms sound familiar, some advice would be gratefully received.

Re: New dishwasher, fridge & freezer

I think you will need a large budget. The lifetime costs are high. Consider the following. I had one for 4 and a half years. It cost
    £750 purchase
£180 for the sensor to be replaced
£360 in spoilt food and professional cleaning bills
£199 for a new Bosch to replace it with after the controls went mad
£420 in spoilt food and professional cleaning bills

I only bought it because I had Miele appliances in the rest of the kitchen that hadn’t gone wrong (yet).

“How come you know that date so specifically?”

That’s when we moved into our current house!

Re: Using S’H parts in U/G machines?

I always had a problem with “new” refurbished Hotpoint motors with a label inside the box saying, product refurbished. Never managed to convince a customer that I still had to pay the “new” price for it and therefore the price for the “refurbished” equaled the new price.

However would kick up stink if a second hand tub with a bearing kit turned up for us to do. I think you should ask the company invovled for full explanation b4 you expose them on this site.

Any more suggestions please? Could it be the programmer that have failed?

    Thanks
