Re: Error Code “FP” – Whirlpool Sixth Sense AWM 81

Thanks Clive, I suspected that the ball may be some sort of valve.

I was hoping someone would reply:
“There should be nothing where the sump hose is connected to the drum, looks like you have a ping pong ball causing the error code: FP = Fast Ping pong ball” – That realy would be Sixth Sense!

I have tried blowing down the drain hose but its clear, and connected to a normal washer outlet.

Is it feasable that there could be a blockage inside the drum before the sump hose, if so how do you check it?

Excellent. I have now ordered these from Shop@.

I just ran the machine for 30 seconds to test it without the stat but won’t use it until the part is fitted.

    Many thanks

Re: General info required about brushes and rotors :cured:

Scoured around on here a bit and tried exploring some other avenues.

I experimented with a forced spin (turn dial to triangle) and it worked at 500 and 900 RPM both empty and with the half load that failed earlier today. So obviously not a fault with the commutator or brushes but they are still a bit noisy but no arcing.

I had a poke around inside and eventually found a sock it the rubber bit that fits directly below the drum. This is why its was not draining water before spinning, then failing either during or before the spin because it was trying to spin an almost full drum fo water hence overheating the motor and cutting out (is it thermal or current based?).

The most fun part was putting the sprung circlip on the outer seal of the door. Could have been better designed, but these things are designed for cost rather than ease of use and service (approved service “engineers” only).

Anyway, thanks for existing and providing some guidance on how to troubleshoot washing machines. Do you have a CE section because my DVD player sometimes has to be tipped up to get it to read discs?

No doubt I’ll be back next time I need to stop my wife giving us a better debt rating by salvaging dying whitegoods…

Re: Instruction manual Indesit WE16 washing machine

    Hey ho, great site !
Found the answer, it was the filter which was blocked. I removed the bottom front panel, unscrewed the large filter screw, drained the water (using a pizza tin, too low for anything else) and found a bit of T-shirt in the filter blocking the water.

Still would like to get a manual.

One more thing which is strange. The writing around the dail has become undone and can be wiped off, most of it is already gone, luckily my wife remebers what is what because you can no longer read the numbers and the pictograms. Very oddb because the same thing has happened to the word Evolution but not to the other printed words on the from, like on/off, mode or select. This has been for a long time and happened shortly after we bought it.

Does anyone know what it should say around the dial ?

    Thanks

    Rob

    Re: AMDEA

It seems (my impression) that previous years crowds when it went under another name were down to the “brown” side of the industry.

Just an observation…where were Electrolux/Zanussi, Servis, to name but two. I personally think that those who displayed are to be praised, however if this is an industry show the organisers have to attract “most” of the industry, not todays showing.

Re: Samsung side by side fridge freezer

in that case….stop and seek professional help.

At the end of the day you won’t see an electronic component fault on the PCB unless its “blown”, that means you have to find the cause of that. So call it a day…go into repairs@ make contact with a local repairer, see where you go from there.
