Re: Servis M3111b refitting rear rubber seal and clamp ring!

🙄 I knew there must be a better way! Putting it on the clamp ring and pulling it up with a length of studding worked fine though….no leaks. I was quite impressed with the build quality inside the Servis. Last w/m I did this on was about 5 years ago. It was a Creda condenser washer/drier I think. It was an absolute dog.

    Re: SMEG WM16AAA bearing noise

Well I called Smeg and they arranged for a local engineer to come and take a look. He found that the machine was quite a way off level, with the front lower than the back so he made a quick adjustment although he did say that this should not be the cause of the problem. He then tested the machine and of course there was no unusual noise. The machine was fine for a couple of days but just when I thought it might have fixed itself the noise came back. Further testing has shown that the noise now only occurs with a full load, so I’m now waiting for the engineer to come back and listen when (hopefully) I can get the machine to misbehave.

    Re: Electrolux seems possessed!!!

    Thanks again guys.

Sadly I’m away from home at the moment but keen to look into this further when I get back. You’ve given me some really good insight into how this all works, and how the functionality is distributed. Perversely, whilst I probably sound like a complete numpty to you with my lack of washine machine knowledge/experience, I could probably actually do a component level fault level diagnosis on the digiboard if I had to (I’ve actually designed quite a few state machines in my time!) What you’ve told me fills in many of the gaps in my knowledge and gives me a sporting chance of getting stuck into this now. I’m really, really grateful for that insight.

Next stop that tacho, and then the digiboard…… I will let you know how I get on!

yes, of course i know that if i pay more euros the better the machine is. I asked how much it costs in your country because i was curious what is the price difference. I am from Romania and here all products are more expensive, especially electronics. And I gave you that link because you said you didn’t know the model and I thought that if you see it maybe you’ll remember it.Thank you again for answering me 🙂

My personal recommendation would be to increase your budget and get a Bosch or similar 😉

    Dave.

Thankyou very much. You’ve heard about Ariston that it is not a good washing machine?Do you know people that had problems with it?A friend of mine took one recently so i don’t know how it will last in time.In my country, Ariston products are quite expensive 🙁 Can you tell me how much is AVD149 where you live?In euro if it is possible. This is a link where you can find Ariston AVG12,16 http://www.ariston.it/ariston/_pdf/manuals/04111401.pdf (english is from page 13).It’s newer than AVD149 and it is completely digital. And if you are kind to answer me one more one more question, what machines are better and rezistent in time? The digital ones or the mecanic? Thank you :worthy:

    Re: Samsung SR-S20

Mine’s a SR2026 CVW as well. The temperature display shows 15 degrees, yet inside it is quite cool. As a temporary measure I have switched the fridge to Vacation which should in theory turn off the fridge. It doesn’t, I can still hear the motor going but it seems to have slowed down the icing up.

Thanks for your help. Where do you put the meter. Will this show open circuit or welded closed. Any idea the price of a new starter-o/l unit? ❓

Re: LG Washing Machine leaves ‘bits’ on the door and in the

We have done the high temperature wash with the machine empty a couple of times, but the problem comes back within 2/3 washes.

My wife is getting to the point where she wants to replace the machine – which is an expensive option, especially as apart from this debris problem, the machine is OK. Is it possible there could be a fault anywhere with the machine, or something needs to be cleaned out? The machine is under 2 years old, so in theory is within warranty (if only I could find the receipt!). I don’t want to get an engineer out and have to pay if it isn’t covered by the warranty.

    Thanks, Ian
