Re: Hotpoint 9524 bearing gone. Time for a new machine?

Thanks again; this is all helping.

Last night I had a Bosch model in mind: the WFX145S, £249.95 from Comet. Then after reading your posts about spin performance I thought maybe I’d be better off looking for 1200rpm instead of 1400: I found the WFX2467, which Comet don’t do (at least, not on line). Currys do but it’s twenty-five quid more expensive than the 145 (which they don’t do so it’s hard to make comparisons)! John Lewis don’t do either model. It seems like every store has an entirely different range for a given brand.

    😕

Re: Chemical residue left on plates, cutlery etc.

Thank you again for you replies.

I’ve been using the quick wash programme with tablets but I tried a longer programme and it didn’t make any difference.

I haven’t tried any other detergent. I’ve never had a dishwasher before and assumed because a label on the machine said Finish was a recommended product all would be OK.

I’ll try using different detergent (not tablets) and see if that makes any difference.

Thank you for taking the time to help me out.

Re: Chemical residue left on plates, cutlery etc.

    Hi,

It’s invisible, very faintly greasy and smells strongly of detergent. It seems that the machine isn’t rinsing properly but no visible marks are left on the crockery. If I run the machine with no detergent or rinse aid after completing a cleaning cycle the smell of detergent and the greasy feeling disappear.

    Thanks for your replies.

I had the same problem before using rinse aid, so I’m afraid that can’t be the cause of the problem.

    Any other ideas?

Re: Hotpoint / Creda tumble dryers not heating

i agree the only way to properly clean condenser is to take out back and flush with hosepipe. Also hpt/creda are not on their own with the open door senario as the same thing happens with the crosslee dryers but of course it is a resetable stat but a pain when the dryer is built in and reset button is on back. Explain to the customer about opening the door they look at you stupid, i suppose justly so because 9 out of ten times they are waiting for the clothes to dry and cant wait long enough so keep checking them.

    Thanks

I’ve noticed the Bosch machines in the £300-£400 price bracket are only rated B for spin efficiency. I’m sure I won’t notice the difference, only using it for a couple of loads a week, but is there anywhere I can find out how these ratings are worked out, so I can understand it a little better?

    Re: Won`t Start – Diplomat ADP8242 D/washer

its usually the board when dead as you describe, Have you tried starting the test cycle as sometimes doing this can reset the board. turn mains on and then immediatley press the select button 4 times not too quickly though or youll miss it, when test cycle is started the left hand and the right hand lights will flash, press select once so that the right hand light only flashes. now turn off the mains and try it if it works great but if not sounds like board (have changed plenty) though i would check solonoid first on dispenser for blow marks as suggested. good luck

If you have got £3000.00 to spend then I would absolutley recommend a mercury range cooker.

    Re: After 6pm calls

As for me I start my first call at 6am sometimes earlier and most customers like it and 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} understand why I start at that time the other 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} are normally unemployed or ethnic who dont want to get out of bed and dont work.

As for after 6pm and weekend calls theve got no chance its mon – fri only.

We do have a life( now and again ).
