Re: ignis akl 394 oven door

    Hi Dave and Clive,
The both of you are stars,my oven door is now dismantled and being cleaned as I type this. One further question. There is what appears to be a gasket or seal which is attached to the inner door,it looks like felt. Before I apply the silicone do I remove the gasket?Do you have any recommendations for the best type of silicone to use? 😀
    Many Thanks
    Jim

Yep and what an engineer, puts many blokes to shame.

The other thing is I a lady can do a drum change then there’s no problem with the male engineers.

They also have a different attitude with customers also and the older generations like the extra attention.

They also don’t get man flu

I wouldn’t say Merloni are the worst offenders, there are a number much worse, the likes of Bosch, AEG and Whirlpool to name but a few

You’ve probably thought of this already but why not miss the work providers out altogether and go direct to the source. Just start small with the likes of say Lofra, I got excellent contract there. The problem my be the these people already have their own agents and getting them to move systems may be a problem or getting the supplier to move agents may be as much as a problem. But if you go after people who are looking at moving you then need national coverage. It has been done before and I’ m sure you have much of that information already but….just rambling at present but the ideas are there

No I back spent a number of months wandering around in the mist, but I feel that I have done what I said I would do.

I haven’t been active for a while but I will do my best again to help out where I can and any info I can obtain that will be beneficial well you know the rest.

I know its not the place but don’t know where else to ask, is it possible to know who is in the war room, you just never know.

    Happy Year to you all

Re: Bosch Compact Dishwasher SKT500 – Salt problem

It can be wiped off easily. In fact, my glasses came out very clean when I did them yesterday. I just noticed that the mugs were chalky. The salt container takes about one cup (once virtually empty) and the indicator goes up to the top immediately – usually. W

When it got low about a week ago, I put a cup full in but the indicator stayed as it was, although the salt went in. I have now taken out as much salt as I can and am currently running a cleaner through the machine to see if this helps. I have also removed a slight blockage in the filter which was the piece of glass.

Thanks for perservering with this – I realise it’s virtually impossible to analyse a problem remotely but wanted to try and get an idea before calling an engineer. These machines are not that costly and usually not worth repairing – although I have only had this one for about a y er and a half so it’s not quite ready for the scrapheap! I’ll keep you posted.

Righty-oh where do I find the filter? and the Fan?
Im a mechanic by trade and fairly handy, I’ve stuck a pump on it in the past..
Just want to try to get an idea of what’s involved before I pull it in pieces!

Re: Bosch Compact Dishwasher SKT500 – Salt problem

Thanks for your replies. It’s a relief to find that there SHOULD be water in the salt container! I know it sounds a bit dim but I’ve never bothered to check! I’ve been using this machine (2nd one) for several years and never realised.

However, the salt goes into a sort of cup (no tablets with this machine) which you insert into a hole, turn it and it empties the salt. There is a window where you can see how high/low the salt is and this normally fills with salt at this point. But this is not happening. I can see about half an inch of salt at the bottom and above that water (I assume), even when I fill the cup and put it in. So where is the salt going?

I cleaned it out this afternoon. Did find a bit of glass in the filter which I’ve removed.

I also removed as much salt as I could (not an easy task as the salt container is not really accessible) to see if it clears what must be a blockage somewhere.

I did run a wash and the glasses came up clean but the salt container definitely isn’t quite as it should be.

The pressing “start” for 5 seconds seems to have cleared it up for me.

it’s running normally now. hope it finishes ok.

Re: Hoover TV630 – Filter Care Light on TOC not o/c

I have the same problem with our TV630. I did what was suggested and checked the thermal fuse , it is ok. The heating elements also seem to be OK but there is alos what looks like a zenner diode which is o/c connected to the ehating elements, could that be the problem?

    Thanks

Re: Bosch Compact Dishwasher SKT500 – Salt problem

Just to eliminate……… are you using 3 in 1 tablets thus giving twice the salt amount ?
