    Re: frost free fridge freezers

    Fraid you lose this one…..

This Hotpoint has a closed in compressor bay and both breathes and expells using the front grill, hence the warm air.

Never be enough to take the chill out of floor tiles, sorry.

How about buying a plinth heater which is much more suited to warming the floor area.

    Re: Whirlpool ADP539AV Door springs!

Strange how we do it differently….

I do this from the front without moving the appliance at all, and use “strimmer cable” to thread through the front of the hinge apperture to hook onto the hinge, pulling from the front.

I do have an idea on that…..but we need a copy of the whole of the mailing list of this trade from yellow pages…….

We are not in a position to buy it, but we know a man that can, if he will let us have a copy, we wait to see…

Re: Bosch SMS5012 Dishwasher Stops Several Times During Cycl

    Martin,
Didn’t listen to her, installed the new part, didn’t score any brownie points but saved myself about $1200. (new part was $90) Machine is working perfectly again.
Watching that matrix do its thing is better than watching TV.
The Bosch spare parts/sales guy reckons these are good for at least 14yrs but looking at the way its built it should go longer than that….most impressed.
Interestingly my first Bosch dishwasher (a 1977 model with push buttons sold here as a Simpson) was still going well until last year when the owner had a kitchen fire.
Once again thanks for the help 😀

    Re: Repairs@ Expansion

thats all ok Ken, however we still can not go down the route of “work provider” as it stands now.

The comparison is perhaps JTM who do fuck all for their admin fee…..we want to do the opposite with ACH.

As far as who has the work to dish out I’m afraid that is out of our hands, I know several manufacturers who are trying to gear their networks to other makes, Electrolux already and Whirlpool are trying to, CDSL will never be the only kids on the block as D&G are going nowhere.

We are a long way from ACH yet and its premature to talk it up so soon. We are even further away from being in a position to handle “contract” spares ect….

Its ok to have vision, however we need to deliver other things first, b4 ACH becomes the next chapter. As for “aiding the repairers” we have to crack the 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} problem first, to be in a position where the repairers help themselves.

Re: TRADE ASSOCIATION (OR THE LACK OF)

Regardless of what Dasa does for an individual or as an association there is a universal problem……

and that is of getting more than 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of a group to take an interest.

Whilst I agree with the view of getting to the grass root of the problems, its the hardest opinion to get, without doubt.

We could make a start at our forthcoming meeting by having this conversation put onto the agenda for the Saturday. Those of us who are there will no doubt equal 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of our membership, back to square one.

We don’t have a magic wand here in UKW, we are not able to read your thoughts, but we do have a track record of delivering on subjects.

So, put us to the test…..tell RS what you want, tell us what you want, be it business advice to buying vans, legal help to contract advice, it won’t make us a trade association, just a bunch of guys looking out for one another. Thats worth far more than a Trade Association can offer and at a fraction of the cost.

We have a rule on delivering on the subjects we talk about during our meetings, quite simple really, have a meeting, discuss objectives, go away and deliver. Would be nice to see more than 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of you at Sibson.

    Re: Repairs@ Expansion

    slow down….

lets get the funding inplace 1st, Del and Jason are not up to speed on everything and whilst this is the board room we should also go one step at a time.

ACH will need around £200,000 investment to bring it to the table, lets carry on with raising the funds for now and debate how we spend it once we have secured it.

So many things have to drop into place, at the right time, its premature to sort of talk of national coverage and stuff.

We are able to do that easily with the experience we have and with the plans already in place, what we must be mindfull of is….

If we ever become a work provider we also become competition to those who read our pages now. We have plans to extract funding out of our supporters, not frighten them away by taking their business.

So, no mention of work provider status to any of your contacts, we have plenty on our agenda for the moment.

Re: Bosch SMS5012 Dishwasher Stops Several Times During Cycl

    Martin,
    Thanks for the prompt reply.
I have since removed the small clear tube from the inlet valve assembly end and flushed water back into the matrix.
I suspect it has removed a restriction from a U-bend at the bottom r.h.s. of the matrix and now the machine will cycle properly but takes 15 to 20 mins to fill and only operates the float assembly once.
I guess it points to the inlet assembly….is that part supplied as a complete assembly with inlet solenoid and pressure diaphragm ?

Her Indoors reckons a new machine is the way to go as the front panel with the dials is a bit scratched and grubby (10yrs of teenagers)but my local Bosch service guy is not to impressed with the new basic Bosch machines.
Is it time to go Miele for a good machine or do Bosch have a model built as well as this oldie.

Re: AEG oko lavamat washer, error F9

    Martin,
    Thanks very much again.
Simple! definitely! Even for a newbie like me ❗

No worries with the water….. it had already emptied.
    Just very smelly….. 😥

    Just my final question……….
I looked in the shop on this website and it doesn’t have any brushes for AEG.
Am I really unlikely to get new ones from any where quickly?
The only place I have found is Domestic Appliances.co.uk.
    http://www.domestic.co.uk/spares/020404 … 40417.html
However I can’t tell which of the brushes is the right one.
    Clues gratefully received…..

    Thanks
P.S. Looks like you’ve spent a lot of time, money and energy on the radio gear 😀
