Thought I had called in the experts when I called the engineer from Autowash.

Re: Bosch Maxx WFL2066 – No motor movement

I’m I right in presuming that it is a 240v AC supply to the motor main coils? I could track back the main coils back to the circuit board to make sure that a supply is being put to the motor. If the main PCB or the Motor needs to be replaced then I guess it’s beyond economical repair, but I’d like to know for sure before I throw it away and spend good money on a new one.

Re: Bosch Maxx WFL2066 – No motor movement

The brushes do have some wear, but I’d expect some rough running or the motor attempting to move before failure. I get near shorts across the 3 pairs of connections on the motor connector so does that suggest that the thermal fuse is Ok? At the time that I expect the motor to start, I hear a relay click followed a couple of seconds later by another click. Does one of the pair connections work as a movement sensor and the second click being it stop sending power to the motor as there is no movement.
I’m also interested in the idea of it being a dry joint on the control board. I’m handy with a soldering iron, so that would be an easy fix.

Re: New PCB – Diplomat ADP8224 Dishwasher

Forgot to add…..I have checked for blockage; the little black flap in the sump under the filter is fine, and the pipe is clear. Yet it is still giving E2 when new PCB is being used. OK when old one is used…except detergent dispenser will not open during cycle….original fault…so long ago!!

    Thanks guys.

Re: New PCB – Diplomat ADP8224 Dishwasher

Thanks guys. Initial problem (previous thread) was: the detergent compartment would not work. Engineer fitted new one, still not working so in went a new PCB, (Engineer said it is related!?) short test. OK. Engineer left. Loaded dishwasher, started great and after 5/6 mins, 4 bleeps and E2. (Prior to repair the d/w worked perfectly except the detergent compartment)

Since reading your replies I have now reinstated the old PCB and it works great, all the cycle, no bleeps or errors…BUT the new detergent compartment does not work.

I would like to use the new PCB as I paid lots of money for it and the engineer cost a fair bit….even though when I told him he said the PCB needed configuring to my m/c and he could not do it!! The last thread indicated that configuration was not required, just a reset, which I did.

Guys, I have an expensive PBC on the side which is causing an E2 problem. Can not return it, do not know where engineer got it from. Any ideas.

    Thanks

If there is an increase in the cost of spares as usual Dave…..I guess they’ll be uping the agents fees by 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} as well… 😉

Re: Whirlpool Double Oven – Knobs Melt!

The cooling fan function is to “cool” the capricorn PCB which sits behind the fascia panel, it has no bearing on keeping the fascia cool.

The knobs melt due to grilling with the door open, there is no heat deflector on these ovens. I can’t remember if this was a model which you should grill with door shut…please check your instruction book.

Also remember that any in guarantee repair carried out by WHIRLPOOL then carries a 12 month repair warrenty……so if the repair was completed less than 12 months ago you are still covered.
The whirlpool system records all in guarantee repairs so by giving your phone number to your local whirlpool centre they will be able to see your service history, just in case you have lost your receipt.

    🙄
Thanks for that response. The model number is indeed T630 001. Judging by your reply I need an engineer out. I know of a good one that my Mum has used in the past. If you can just confirm that I need his services then I can move forward with this and get it fixed. Thanks very much for your help.

Re: Washer/dryer – clothes hot, but soaking wet

i had that problem and it is the fluff from the clothes has clogged up the pipe. What we are not told when buying one of these is they are not designed to be used to often.I used mine once a day and was told that was too much. You have to take the top off and you will c a big plastic dome shape and it is probably full.

    Re: Diplomate ADP8224 Dishwasher

    Thank you for quick reply.

And he said it needed configuring…useless!

I initially checked the forums but was not able to find anything. My machine is built in with facia panel and controls are on top of door, no lights, just electronic display and 3 touch buttons.

What is the reset proceedure for this type of machine.

    Thanks

Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 – I also have a problem!

Had similar problem to the one discussed above caused by blocked filter. I was similarly able to reset the machine as described.

Now have a much bigger problem in that the drum vibrates badly and appears to strike outer drum (by the noise) at speeds above 500 rpm. The bearings have some free play but not enough to make the drum touch the side when tensioned by hand. I am planning to replace the bearing set but wondered if …
    1. The bearings can be replaced without removing the drum assembly from the machine.
    2. The fixing of the spindle to the inner drum may have failed … to check this I would need to remove the drum assembly from the machine but can the drum assembly be dismantled or is it welded up. I note that a drum assembly costs around £200 for the part which does not make this a viable repair.
