Nobody goes back as far as Alex, not even John P.

It was sad news and reminded me of the times I used to see JP at a Blues Club, called Mothers, in Birmingham where he was the DJ on Saturdays.

He would walk on to the side of the small stage where there were two record decks and place an LP on one of the turntables (for the youngsters amongst us an LP is a large thin disc that had grooves cut into it. When it was rotated and a neddle placed in the grooves you could hear music, static and scratches.) John would in his usual calm way anounce the title of the record and the name of some unknown artits and then walk back to the bar. When the first side of the record has played he would slowly walk from the bar, turn the record over and anounce ‘Side 2’ and walk back to the bar.

    What a wondeful technique.

Happy memories – We will all miss him.

kwatt wrote:4700, the model number you have is incomplete it will be AHY36**, you’re short two digits and we’d need that to track it down I think.

thanks for the swift reply, Kw

I’ve had a look at the MFI website, and as far as I can see the last 2 digits are the colour.

Mine’s Mocca so it would be AHY 3610.
If you don’t find anything under that number, try 3620 (White) and 3640 (Green) since they’re the same oven.

Re: Ariston AWD1200 poor drying prformance

Good call! Took condensor off (not too difficult – for anyone with rubber arms!) and perforated metal plate was SOLID with lint, fair bit in condensor itself as well. Cleaned it all up, working through holes in drum to get to inside, and the dryer will once more get stuff hot enough to burn your hands.

What a rotten piece of design though – looks like something which should really have an annual clean, so why wasn’t it made more accessible?

Now all I need to do is get drum rotation sorted (it is doing the same on wash cycles – five or ten minutes of anti-clock rotation followed by nothing until power switch is cycled – motor control board?) and stop the dryer fan making an horrible din (probably fried bearings due to heat soak when air flow was down to practically zero).

Thnks for all your help – this goes a long way to convincing my wife that the internet is not just a sophisticated porn delivery sytem 😉

    Re: ADP8342 – Flashing lights

I had this on my model. It was not a mechanical problem but an electronic one. The machine sometimes goes in to ‘test mode’. There is a way of resetting this. I am at the office at the moment so I have not got those instructions, but when I called Diplomat direct (as it was under the manufacturers warranty for the first year) they told me what to do over the phone to reset it. Diplomat may be more useful than MFI in this case. Their number should be in the manual

Re: bosch dishwasher SGS5312 – stuck on rinse mode

    Hi Martin

You did say come back! The Bosch only ends the rinse cycle in quick wash. All other cycles finds it rinsing for over an hour. Reset puts it right but dry is never reached.

    What are my options now?

    Re: Teba oven spares required

If you can supply the correctmodel number that will be on the outside of the top of the cover then the glass should be easily be obtained, you will have to pull the oven out of the unit by approx 12 inches to see the label though and will consist of normally 3 letters then 2 numbers followed by a GB number and then a 9 digit serial number.

we can then supply part number & cost ect
