Re: Diplomat ADP8242 Flashing Soak Light

    There is only one light.

    From switch on:

    Soak light starts to flash
    Machine gives a double beep
    Soak light continues to flash.

The flashing is just continuous, no patterns.
Holding the program select button whilst switching on has no effect.

Re: Diplomat Dishwasher ADP8224 Programmer fault

Thanks a lot for your speedy response Dave – just sorry to note that it confirms my fears and the programmer is at fault.

However having looked at another thread I checked out the QER website and after a lot of searching it would appear they may be able to replace this programmer at a cost of about £50.

    Will find out next week.

Thanks again – will let you know if they can’t help

Re: Indesit WE12 F05 fault code

I have the same problem on the same day how freaky is that. I’ve done some searching and it means you have a bloked pump or your pressure switch is faulty (maybe it’s gunked up and is stuck in the on position) Hope that helps you.

Thanks “Kwatt” for the info. I will try the contact phone No tomorrow (Monday 26 Apr 04) and hopefully get through and book an engineer for a visit.

P.S. Where or who can I contact to extend my Washer/dryer warranty as I was only supplied with a years guarantee under the purchase.

    Relax,

It’s quite simple really. As they own a company with enginneers, all be it brown goods. they have to comply……….

Of the three people they have used as references two of them know nothing about it and the third hasn’t commented yet.

DASA won’t be accepting any new members for at least 6 months due to its current re-organisation.

In the next 6 month’s either DASA will have changed out of all recognition and will be then strong enough to select new members who apply OR in the worst case senerio it will cease to be or just go into a never ending downward spiral.

This time I think we just need to sit back and let events take their natural course

    Re: miele dishwasher

Thank you for your all the comments. I agree with what you have said about 3-in-1 tablets and have shied away from them before now.

However I still cannot get rid of these white deposits on my glassware!
I am going to leave it for a couple of days to see the full effect of increasing the water level and adding an interim rinse.
Obviously the machine must be working ok as it has been checked by Miele and with the extra rinse, I cannot believe that it is dirty water still left there. Anyway, sometimes, they are ok but there is no rhyme or reason to it.

Perhaps the answer is just not to wash glasses in the machine! I know this is what some of my friends say!

Re: Indesit W103 – Eight flash fault

Thankyou for the reply. I will take a brief look this weekend for anything obvious.

If it is the control board would there be any compensation from Indesit due to it being only a year and a half old and used once a week? (Doubt it but feel they should!)

Also with a machine that costs £200 and a possible repair up to £100?, wouldn’t it be sensible to buy another more reliable machine? If the board is tempermental it could happen again in a years time. Personally I dont like this throwaway society and means bad business for the repair guys out there!

I’ll see how I get on and let you know…..

Re: Which Spares Supplier(Wholesaler) is best ?

It just so happens I was speaking to a small manufacturer yesterday who gets the electric oven cooling fan for approx £6.00 + vat each and would let me add on a extra amount of units at cost if I wanted to when he next ordered which would benefit us all.

The cheapest ive found is in the region of £12 per unit + vat so if we could make a order up of say 100 in total I will order and then distribute out at cost.I’m going to try to get a price for standard ego 50 -250 oc thermostats and fan oven motors as most are standard on the italian units.

If anyone is interested give me a call on 07961 365484 or e-mail me r600a@hotmail.com

    Re: miele dishwasher

Wow! What customer service Miele give! Email giving time of engineer’s arrival came as promised last night and the engineer came within 1 minute of predicted time.

He increased the water washing level, and added an extra interim rinse and now I await the results.

In the past Bosch had made me feel about 1 inch tall when I had a problem with one of their machines,, this was one reason for trying this forum to see if everyone else thought I was stupid too before I got out an engineer.

That does it for me. everything I buy from now on is going to be from Miele. Their customer service is the best I have ever had. Wish I knew their secret!

    Re: miele dishwasher

Thank you for your suggestions. Yes I looked up the water hardness for my area on the internet and the softener is set accordingly.

It may well be due to a local variation.

I haven’t come across the miele test though that you refer to Martin.
I’ll let you know the outcome of the engineer’s visit.

I am becoming obsessed with dishwashers! Sad person that I am!

    Re: miele dishwasher

    Thanks Martin

How right you are! If I turn the rinse aid down, I get less streaks but still get the white residue on the glasses and more spotting on the sides.

Its not a lot, but it surely can’t be right … all the ads show sparkling shiny glasses!

I just don’t know whether I am being too fussy! My sister has a brand new Neff machine and the glasses come out without any streaks and there aren’t any streaks on the door once its finished either, whereas there always are on mine.

An engineer is booked for tomorrow now . I can’t think of anything else that I am doing wrong. These machines use so little water, its amazing that they get anything clean!

If anyone else has had this experience, I would be pleased to hear from you.

    Thanks
    Deb
