An interesting question has appeared in the Connect forums. Someone is asking what the hell is going on, meaning he has seen the NESN Bosch posting and wants answers off Gary Ainscough.
What it needs is someone to suss the fact that NESN are paying more for the same, and it is transparent.
I’m not flavour of the month at present with Connect as I’m rejecting 8 out of 10 calls and refuse to phone customers for further information when model numbers are missing, addresses wrong etc. We refuse to supply fit cosmetic parts in conjuction with a repair, and charge for every misuse etc.

I’ve just rang the hotel, 35 rooms are reserved for the Thursday and Friday night under ‘FFR’ (Bryan).Quote ‘AFFRS’ when you ring, for some reason, ‘AFFRS’ is the booking reference…Adrian 🙂
That’s the secret then. He told me there was a booking for AFFRS, but didn’t know who it was. Nor did I, but I pretended that was the group I was with. Phew as I could have been on some happy-clappy religous convention. Will see all you bretheren on the day.

Could someone either phone the hotel and tell them we have a meeting, or alternatively tell us what title it is booked under or the name of who booked the 35 rooms.
I tried to book, they can find no record of a meeting under UKW, UK Whitegoods, UKWTA Ken Watt or Bryan Williams for Fri 24th. He did find a reservation had been requested for 35 rooms?
I don’t suppose you have moved the venue? If not perhaps I spoke to a trainee?

Well documented in here. YELLOW PAGES TOPIC I have since come out of Yell.com as well, only difference is being £6k per year better off.
Reason it is getting thin, fewer people are wasting money on them. We had 2 arrive here, and one at home, all got thrown in the bin. On waste paper collection day I noticed a few of my neighbours had done the same.
The white pages gets the same treatment. 192.com or Google for me.

Sorry Martin I don’t quite agree with you. There is customer out there who is looking at a professional medium for advice. Strange as it seems, that should be us.
I read what Mr B.E. had posted it makes sense, and he is genuinely trying to help. There is no need for a little spat to take place around the periphery of a genuine customer enquiry.
I cannot inderstand why the interceptor of the thread got involved?

Wait till Martin reads this……
Just as a reminder, Cowboys Riding The Range Page 2 it starts to liven up. Must be the same company? (says he tongue in cheek)
I phoned them once with a query on the warranty details for a new machine they sold to a customer. Whilst the receptionist went off to find out, I overheard in the background a male shouting, “If he refuses to pay, we will take him to effing court”

Ah! they sent me loads of stuff and had to fill out gawd knows what. Even mentioned keeping a daily log of the temperatures of a fridge in the office should we have one, and we had to show this record on request. Suppose if no fridge and everyone gets food poisoning, that is OK.
Steven wrote:You need find out why you were not always getting the work… the amount of customers i pushed back your way, as they never used to give your number ❓
I still don’t get BS postcodes except the S/Force work. I can’t make sense of it? We had a call last week same postcode as our office, when we went there (on foot) someone else from 60 miles away had already been, and transpired this was their recall. We declined the repair, and then D&G refused to pay us, even though we had a referral number. I phoned Wimbledon and asked why was this call not passed to us first time, and they could not answer. They tell me I’m first tier, but this keeps happening.

But over the years they have given us all the crap or stuff others have failed to repair, which we have put up with thinking that we will get more :rolls:
Not the case dont know who they are going to get to cover now or how this will affect the service, it would be nice to know?
I even sent a email explaining how disapointed they have dropped us but to date not even an acknowledgement. :rolls:
Many of our customers who only request us will not be happy and will end up cancelling the policies when they hear.
The amount of money us independents save them I cant believe they want to use manufactures. Steven
I am amazed and disappointed that after all these years of Sterling Service, you get dropped. To date I’m unaffected, but the way things have snowballed this week with another contract, nothing surprises me, and I’m watching the post.
That last line intrigues me? Just look at the work you do on that contract, and ask yourself “What Manufacturers?” If you are like me most of the D&G network stuff (In my case outside of Service Force) Is the likes of Servis, Beko and a few old or obscure products. There is no relationship between Beko & Dom/Gen and of course Servis is no more.
Just out of interest, did you get all that Health & Safety stuff and if so did you manage to meet the criteria?

Alex, Phil… you’re both in DASA and, so far as I know, on the DASA Council.
K.I’m on Vancouver Island and totally out of touch. All I’m hearing is on here or the CDSL forums which they are deleting at random. I am punctuating my holiday in internet cafes & I’m not popular.
I cannot comment as it seems it is all on hard copy as posted in the mail & I haven’t a clue as to what the hell is going on??
These things always happen as soon as I take a holiday.

I tend to agree with Martin regards Obama.
Amazes me the Americans can blame us Brits, when the staff on site are mainly Yanks, the criteria for building, operation etc are all subject to American legislation, yet it is OUR fault.
Just remember the Bhopal tragedy in 1984, Union Carbide and they simply walked away. Now the latest is the blame has been passed to local officials and workforce. Can we do the same?
Take a look on the UK Peak Oil discussion forum >> LOOK HERE <<

I shall be on the far side of Vancouver island on the Pacific Rim for the most of the time this lot is on. I hope I’ve managed to book far enough away.
I bet I’ll still bump into a Man U fan who along with the rest have never even been to Manchester.

Rumour Mill doesn’t give a lot away.
If Repaircare, they will farm the Gas Fires out in the areas where there is poor gas cover to heating engineers, and pay them more money.
It seems that S/F has suggested that those of us that want to keep the work to make themselves known & the S/F management will pass on the details to C/Lee. Can’t seen anything coming of that though.
I shall be glad to see the back of it. Rubbish product, rubbish rates!

Seeing “Repaircre LMAO” Do you know something the rest of us don’t?
I suspect may go to JTM. Might be wrong. As you say Phil, no great loss, and the Whirlpool agents had a tenner more per call than we did.

Huh I wish!
Bit of an unqualified remark there Martin.
There is No money in fixing fridges. Gone are the days when we drift into a home and fit a VT9 stat. Most calls are either system related or pcb failure & the customer doesn’t bother.
