    Re: sam testmeter

    Hi,

    our mate SAM……

Yes you can buy, they retail around £200 ish (cant remember) – to the Whirlpool partners PM me if you are interested.

But there are a few pros & cons (of course)

SAM is an aid, not the answer to all your prayers. It will help with fault codes, reprogramming boards, and even gives test program walk throughs – but it is not always correct, so you need to use a bit of good old fault finding as well. Leads are supplied, but are a bit fragile & are expensive to replace & with no auto power off they chew through batteries as our guys cant get the hang of an on/off switch!

You also need to bear in mind that it needs updating fairly often for the new products that come out – these updates are around once a month, so if you dont have access to the whirlpool partners site you cant update. Having said all that, if you only use it for out of warranty, you dont need an upto date database so twice a year may be ok for you. I understand that whirlpool may be making provision to do this on a ‘post in with a cheque’ basis.

to sum up, our guys would not be without the SAM – but then we do 80 {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} whirlpool.

pm if you have any queries

    Hi – reply to Lee

sounds like a gas fault, but may be worth checking the fan at the bottom

    Unplug first

    Then check plug is out

Remove wooden plinth (if present) and remove 2 screws from flat plastic plinth on appliance – the fan is on the left (you cant miss it). Check it is free of fluff and turns freely!

If the fan cannot remove the heat from the condenser – thats the big black grid on the back of a freestanding feezer, it wont cool!

Re: Lint, fluff, whatever you want to call it

could be a clue in your post – are you setting the appliance on to the shorter, synthetic or delicate washes?

If so please check the book – usually a washer will be 5kg load size on a cotton wash, 2.5kg on a synthetic one & as low as 1.5kg on a delicate!

if you overload on these programs there is too little water so it could be your problem.

    try a cotton wash!

Re: Whirlpool American Fridge Freezer broken down – help!

    Yup,

DP has it spot on – spluttering water dispenser that stops when the fridge door opens is a rear board, but, you will need front as well due to the age

rear board is £99.23, front £119.21 (no price on system, but have price for a different colour) plus VAT of course

    sorry!

    Hi Simon,

Yes, I have had a quick look & they are available, but the pricing does not look promising.

I’m just off downstairs to check – if we have any of these, I’ll do a ‘glad to get rid of it discount’

also would auntie be ok if we supplied white instead of grey or vice versa?

    I’ll let you know

    Hi sam,

when you switched the appliance off, did you have a large puddle of water on the floor – could be a problem with the auto defrost.

What area are you in (postcode)?

Re: Installation manual for Bauknecht GSI 4853 TW dishwasher

    Hi,

we have found the ifu – but there is no recomendation for a maximum distance for the drain hose.

As Dave sugests, the shorter the drain the better, but if you would like a copy of the IFU please pm me for details

    Re: Bauknecht oven part needed

I have a couple of alternative parts that should fit – either a 481949869514 or 481949869197, AKG217 etc

These are both from the whirlpool range – I cross checked the part for the inner door & these handles should be compatable.

Anybody out there with one that you can look at – I think the difference was the center screw was offset on some models?

    Hi Linda,

Sorry – we have looked in the stores & dont have one – but there is a chance we may have one for a different model – can you describe it (colour & shape, is it a ‘bar’ type or a moulded plastic one?)

    Regards,
