Yes a loose wire is the most proberble cause… and again, I would suggest getting it seen to as Loose Wires Cause Fires.

If you are going to attempt it yourself

Check your wall socket has power.

Also, with regard to the iron.. close the holdings for the fuse slightly.. a loose fuse can cause surges and fires.

wait for a period of about 5 mins to see if it starts up in the same direction again… if it does, you need a module repair.

    Re: Waste Carriers Licence

Dr Dill, I am in agreement with you there… There are way too many rules created by different departments that contradict eachother, together with attempts to get money off you in any way possible for something you are doing that is supposed to benefitting the environment.. However, we need to show willing in parts and therefore we must try to abide by as many of the rules as possible.

    Re: Waste Carriers Licence

    Dr Dill,

If you want to recon machines you are supposed to purchase the T11 exemtion at £840 for 3 years registration.

The waste Carriers Licence is pureley to allow you to carry the waste from site to site and this costs around £150 for 3 years I think.

The registration of your sites to store hazardous waste is £18 per site per year I think.

    Steve,

At this particular time there is no change to the operational controls or fees of the T11. However, the EA (as far as I am aware) are only chasing and fining companies who are blatently operating with disregard to safety and the environment.

    George
My advise to you would be to contact your local EA department and ask for them to visit your site and after viewing how you do things, advise you on the way forward.

As far as I am aware, the fee for the T11 is a site by site fee… but if I remember, I will contact the EA to gain further info on this, together with your suggestion for a group application.

Yes it is C00094282 and it fits about 30 different machines… You could salvage a good one from another machine.

The bearings are in the spider and the spider is on the outside rear of the drum on those machines if I remember right.

Seen the Q & A’s at the side… It’s good reading the jokes.. Talk about confuse the customer.

Q My washing machine keeps leaking, is it worth getting repaired or would it be cheaper to replace it?

A With washing machines its always more cost effective to replace then spend out on a new one, Leaking is a common fault that we repair regularly.

People are obviously watching their money… I had 2 yes 2 refused jobs today because they would have to pay a £25 callout.

    Re: Free call outs

Free call out is the same as ‘No charge to attend’…

If you get the machine working then there is automatically a charge.

The charge is for your service + the cost of the parts.. in this case there would be no charge for parts but I would imaging your repair cost to be somewhere within the scope of £25 – £65 depending on the distance travelled and whether you were on your way to another call (or other similar factors).

Also issues with debris from gutters and silt from the rooftiles..

I was under the impression that this sort of idea was for water reuse for gardens and the like… not for household utility or consumption.

Have you checked the motor wiring for continuity end to end?
