Intermittant break in wires to pump?

Did you try replacing the pump?

Yep, definitely sounds like that. That’s probably why you found it dumped 😉 . What repair did you do on it?
    Mike.

Nah.. This one wasn’t a scrapper… It was a PX i took in after I went out to repair it and the woman fancied a replacement new machine at £245 rather than the cost of a replacement pump + labour. She said it was looking a bit dated. All that was wrong with the machine was that the impellor kept popping off the pump motor shaft. I tested it.. I replace the pump for a new one.. put it on test again with a full wash, then sold it.

But will definately check the tacho when it gets here.

I’m not so sure… I’m thinking it would be a bit like brain-washing…
When a customer walks in and they are looking around at what is on offer, even though they themselves are not listening, their brain is listening to what is being said. Therefore whilst they are shopping they are being informed of the fact that ISE machines have a 10 year warrantee; they are learning that it is better to pay more for reliability; they are being sold the fact that it is better to use independants rather than the big conglomerates.. etc etc etc.
ASDA, Currys, Comet, etc. have all started to do this with little adverts of their own on tv’s instore, so it must work.

Well done Ken.. I listened before and thought it was very good indeed.

I know you are gonna think me a bit of a numpty for suggesting this may be a good idea if you get the chance, but; I think it would be brilliant if you could get a whole interview to yourself so that all those questions and more of the same ilk could be put to you and you could answer in your own experienced, knowledgable, wise-old-man, way… Having a recording of something like that playing in the background iside my shop would be fabulous 😀

    It’s not just online though…

I just had the D.A.D rep around offering me 3kg WK T/D’s at £81+Vat for 3+. ASDA are selling the 3kg WK T/D at £84 inc. VAT. So ASDA are cheaper than D.A.D for the same item if I am buying just one at a time.

TBH, the job you was employed for was to fit a board… Since the board was supplied by them it leaves you not liable for the faults thereafter.. You have done the job you were paid for.

If these ppl asked for you to remove the old machine from service “Dump it”, they are in no way able to hold you responsible for supplying them with a replacement scrap machine.

You are being fleeced for your good nature (Foolishness). The have proberbly had someone tell them that they could have gotton £50 for the scrap machine from ebay.
