    Re: Electrolux EWX14440W Cuts out

Had a similar thing happening to an Indesit WIDL126s .. Turn out to be a trapped wire on the loom .. The wire was earthing out against the cable intermittently

Jim.. What you need to be looking for is the man that rides around in a van all day collecting rubbish for £1 per bag… he will movew the drums for you.. There is one that goes around Chester but I don’t know of one in Oldham

Hi Mike… I do use both RS and Farnells for my parts.. as well as reclaiming them from the many boards that people send me via our website.

leavemetogetonwithit wrote:I don’t think the resistor would cause the triac to blow

There are many varisters on the board protecting the triacs. Together with ‘broken souldered joints on the power plug’ (Possible spike), and the fact that this particular triac is situated in the tracks of a relay, this particular blow-out could have a source of one of many, including this little bugger.

Not a problem anymore.. unless you have set-up digital signals to enter the building… effectively they have shot themselves in the foot. No digital signal.. No TV

Cheers Mike… I thought it was a resistor but didn’t want to just guess at it .. I think it is blown by the looks of it so I shall measure from another on the board… The MAC97A8 triac has been blown apart too at the other side of that varistor and Im presuming this little sod is the cause… will let you know when I test.

Try the interlock again.. I just had the same fault on the machine and could not figure it out, so I tried the interlock again and it worked… Faulty interlock straight out of the bag.

    Re: Waste Carriers Licence

    Very interesting subject..

This is a case of the local authorities and governments trying to wring every penny they can out of businesses and in some cases has contributed to the closure of a few.

I have a secondhand shop and do house clearances.. I have had this same conversation with the EA and other authorities many times….

EA dictate that any and all goods that enter my van from a House clearance, Repair job, Rubbish removal, and other service jobs that I do is waste and therefore I must carry a Waste Carriers Licence; Nevertheless, if I stipulate to the customer that anything that enters my van becomes my property, I may then do with it as I wish. Notwithstanding this, I can then declare that the waste is no longer waste as such in that I will be recycling 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of such by means of sale or gift to other companies and hence I have no need for a Waste Carriers Licence.

Better watch out though… Speeding is not all that those cameras are looking for… I got done the other day for not wearing a seatbelt .. caught by the roadside camera van.

Will be watching with anticipation for this much needed facility… The webbased or cdbased training being preferential due to the lack of staffing here to facilitate absence.

    cheers
