ParticipantRe: Diplomat APM 8512 fault
If memory serves me right you will find that a change of the starter capacitor will provide the remedy for this fault on this machine…

You could place the photo onto photobucket or some other free-hosting site and then place its URL between Img tags.

ParticipantRe: Fight!..Letting Agent v’s Tenant v’s Landlord
How destroyed was the hair-clip? Hairclips errode very fast and after 2 or 3 months they would look so bad that you would realise that it had been there for a while… but if it was still in pretty good condition then it belongs to the current tenant or friends of … otherwise suggest someone else is using his washer. 😈
Maybe you should inform them of a charge that is about to be added to the bill for late payment.

Where do you get one of these licences from?Chris
You get the Licence from the Environment Agency .. but .. as far as I am concerned the parts have far more value than the scrap.

Sounds like an older gentleman.“Hello. I’d just like to enquire whether you deal in second hand Creda Debonaire spin driers. If so perhaps you could give me a ring with a sort of price you might have on them.”
I just don’t quite know how to ring him back without bursting out laughing.
Maybe 💡 he got me mixed up with Goatboy
Mike.Don’t be so supprised Mike, when I get one of those into the shop I can get as much as £75 for it depending on its condition… I’ve never sold one under £30.

is it possible that the power is being interupted by a failing/overheating capacitor somewhere?

ParticipantRe: Your opinions on a small claim….
Well I never thought that I would ever see anyone advocating violence on here.
£34 is £34.. in some peoples terms that is a fortune… 3 x £34 and you have more thatn £100, etc etc. But it is not the money that is the issue here; the issue is the principle and principles matter; for every one that gets away without paying the full amount there us another standing by say ‘Oooh, I’ll try that one myself next time I have a repairman round to do a job’ and before you know it we end up with the customer stating how much you will get paid fr your job.
BUT NEVER VIOLENCE .. Violence of any form is despicable and once it becomes vocal that you have either advocated violence or used violence you may as well retire because customers will avoid you like the plague. Notwithstanding this, violence of that form is Criminal Damage and even on your first offence you could be put into prison, loose your business, and end up being forced to pay compensation to the very person that you were trying to releive of your hard earned cash.
Small Claims Courts, £34.90 + Expenses + Fees +Interest 8{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} + CCJ against their name + Teir name on a list of Non-Payers (in full view of all the customers that enter your workplace) usually works. The latter usually deters others from trying the game too.

ParticipantRe: Tumble dryer fan belt needed
Had me all excited then Don… but I rang them up and they say that part number is for the drum.. not the fan.
The belt is roughly 515 – 520mm in length .. any other ideas?

IIRC it’s about £100 a year but it’s worth it, even just for the satisfaction of getting even by giving grief.

‘If’ the plug was in the ‘wrong way round’ all that would happen is that you would get a live feed to the open switch side of the door lock, which would not therefore activate. No damage to the PCB would occur
I had a WMA10 do the exact same thing a few days ago… I replaced the bearings and put the whole machine back together again, and assuming, as one would, that the plug will only insert one way, I inserted the plug and switched on for test.. only to find the door lock flashing and then a cracking sound as our friendly little triac for the door swich decides to have an argument with the wiring… I checked what was wrong and sure enough I had pushed the plug in the wrong way round. 😳 😥 👿

ParticipantRe: do you sell machines?
I have been quoted more from a trade supplier than I could buy the machine direct at Macro

I went to the local Euronics centre which is a few doors away from my store… I asked them about buying the washers and dryers that pile-up in their yard; they told me that they are not allowed to resell them… due to Euronics rules and the EA and WEEE rules they must scrap them…
I think it is a load of ******** but there you go… I do know that Curry’s have made the same rule and have been told direct by one of their managers (Direct from the horses mouth) that the rule was made to stop them being reworked, reconditioned, whatever you wish to call it… they do not want them back out in the sales market.

ParticipantRe: noisy waste on washing machine
If your connection to the waste is prior to the S-bend and overflow for your sink then this can happen… If you move the connection to the aft of these connections then the gargling will normally disappear.
