ParticipantRe: Hoover VHD91632D
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but any update on this one? I’ve got one doing the same thing.

ParticipantRe: New way to replace Bosch brushes.
This is my tried and tested method, space and hose/cable lengths permitting:
Remove back panel and tilt machine towards you. You can balance it against you. This will give you enough room to get in with a ratchet and socket (maybe need a open-ender for the last couple of threads). Remove motor bolts and belt. Now tilt machine backwards and rest it against underside of worktop.Climb underneath, remove cable tie and plug. Open door, stick your hand inside and pull the tub towards the front of machine. Give the motor a tap and it falls into your hand. Voila! Works for me. 😀

Thermocouple? Do you mean thermal cut-out?

ParticipantRe: sons
Went to an old boy with an old 95 series hotpoint. No motor action. “My son is really clever and he changed the brushes so it must be something else.” Had a look anyway. Sure enough, there in the motor sat a brand new set of brushes, except that the really clever son had not read the packet and bent the tabs back. Not wanting to shatter the old boy’s illusions, I tinkered about underneath for a while and put it down to a bad connection on the module and charged him a token amount. Dishonest or soft?

Thanks Chris. Probably not something she can sort herself then. She did say it was in rather a damp basement, so that could account for it maybe.

ParticipantRe: Crosslee dryer drum shaft.
Unfortunately, it is not available as a spare part. I could have done with a few myself.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint CTD00
Thanks Bazza. A positive bargain at £4.04 + vat from Connect! Oh, nice job on the brother-in-laws Samsung fridge in Arbroath the other week. Seems you went above and beyond the call of duty. And very reasonable too. Nice work fella.

ParticipantRe: Indesit 10 yr old wm blows trip at end of cycle.
Is it a washer dryer? If so, it could be the dryer heater down to earth, or maybe one of the brass nuts holding the heater into the heater box come loose, allowing the terminal to touch the heater box. Don’t laugh, I had this once, years ago. Machine would go through the wash program all the way to the end without any problems, then bang, blew the fuse as soon as the timer hit stop(dry).
Just a thought…..Dave

To all who wished me good luck for 2008, it did sod all. So for 2009, could you please send either money, vodka or vouchers (not Woolworths, Zavvi or MFI)
Thank you.
P.S. Happy new year to one and all.AMS
ParticipantRe: Soz , Hotpoint WF 240 codes ?
I’d try the pressure switch first. I’ve had a couple of F08’s recently that have been cured with new switches. Alot cheaper than than the pcb as well.

That sounds very plausible Mark. I will give it a go when I go back. Thanks very much.
