ParticipantLet us just wait and see who is really out of a job shall we.
This story is not quite finished yet.
appboy
ParticipantThis is now confirmed and no longer a rumour.
Apparently there is to be an announcement today on this subject to the repairers. Rumour has it that repaircare is to be no more.
Whether this means that it is to be wound down or as someone on this site suggested will change owners is not yet clear.

ParticipantIn this mornings news we have been told that all three regional managers have been made redundant. John biddle, Graeme mottishead and mark Reilly are all now no longer employed.
Of course this is the rumour mill and this is hot off the presses.
appboy
ParticipantYes but I am told reliably that repaircare are being paid the same as NESN.
So repair companies are being ripped off or rather allowing themselves to be ripped off.

ParticipantRe: bbc watchdog
Martin do you know what you want? First you argue for some form of regulation and now you appear to have done a complete u turn and now do not want that.
Or are you just spoiling for an argument as I often think you are the way you write things?
I am confused as I often find myself when reading your posts.
Perhaps you would care to clarify for the benefit of all.
appboy
ParticipantDrdill instead of droning on about some mythical legislation or official regulation why do you not explain us all just what you are doing to achieve tour goal?
Or is it a case of you want to shout about it but expect others to do the work on your behalf at no cost to yourself?
I would like for you to clarify so that we may all have a reasoned discussion on the matter. It just strikes me that the people talking about this sort o thing appear to have very limited knowledge or involvement in it.
appboy
ParticipantIt is a concern as they could be stealing members work.
Drdill I cannot see a gas safe type thing happening either an I would not want to. I pay enough for gas now I do not need more costs to my business and it would not stop repaircare stealing work anyway so your comment is not relevant to this discussion.
The point is that Lawson is gone, Mark Depper has taken over apparently as he has some time after trashing his btcc car probably. And that repaircare are continuing to steal the food from repairers tables.

ParticipantRe: DSG/RepairCare Rate Cuts
Richard Lawson has apparently been paid off. Of course it is not being put quite that way but that is what has happened.
No doubt he will be made a scapegoat for this debacle.
Also repaircare are being put forward as a repairer for chargeable work on the DASA website which I find disgusting since they could steal work from real repair businesses.
appboy
ParticipantI have heard that Respond services in London have also terminated which is owned by the vice chairman of DASA. They run about 60 engineers and cover a vast area.
Also heard of three in the north not reported here yet that have also terminated.
With Adrian and the others reported within this forum that leaves some massive holes some of which repaircare will struggle to fill. It also seems that word of all this is spreading and people offered this work are not keen to take it on due to the bad press.
I have to wonder how long this repair service is viable and how long it will be before the repaircare clients suss that they are getting a poorer service with patches of no cover due to repaircares policies.
Maybe that is why there have been direct approaches recently as if it was me in the position of these clients I would make my own arrangements despite any contract as it is clear that repaircare may well not be able to provide the service required.
There are several that are not happy and are making that known.
One or two I know are not happy at paying repaircare considerably more than the agents get paid.
appboy
ParticipantThey probably felt that they were too aloof to mingle with the peasants.
I didn’t see them attempting to speak to anyone really they just appeared to be there lingering. I actually do not think that they care a jot about the agents just so long as they can fund the insane levels of money that they are making. What happens to the lowly agents is not their concern so long as we just keep on being cash machines for repaircare.
I hope they do lose it now as I got wind that currys think that they have been ripped off but we will see.
appboy
ParticipantThey probably did not speak because they know full well that this contract cannot pay and that it is said that NESN are being paid the same but NESN pay the agents more. You have to wonder why that is so.
Hopefully wherever the currys work goes next will be a more favourable regime than the current or previous ones but I won’t hold my breath on it.
I just think that they are a disgrace.
appboy
ParticipantSorry for now I cannot say any more without revealing the source or my identity which could cause me problems.
I can say that the rumour came from a good source but even they did say that it was not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} yet. They rated it at about 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} for sure.
appboy
ParticipantCowards, too scared to speak and take the flak. Although I am sure that I saw Martin Depper.
Bit there are more rumours now that another two agents have resigned recently and that the currys work is going to be moving away from repaircare soon.

ParticipantRe: DSG/RepairCare Rate Cuts
I do not know where David Parker is.
Richard Lawson from what I have been told married into the job and by all accounts has now been moved out of it as well.
There appears to be some sort of relationship to the Depper family with a few key staff so you never know what is being fed right back to CIA central by the spies who you have no clue are involved in this way. All I am going to say is to watch what you say to who as it might come back and bite you.
It is amazing that so far repaircare have done squat to help their agents despite the bad press. Then currys have not done or said anything either. Crosslee are just idiots if they think they will get a good service for the money that is on offer.
Maybe there were buckets of sand on sale for them all to stick their heads in.

kwatt wrote:Are we all really that stupid? Would we help orchestrate our own demise?
Apparently yes we are that stupid.
You are correct in what you say up to a point. With repaircare what was a decent contract has now turned into a nightmare that you cannot make money on. Now we have the crosslee work which is the same we cannot make money on it.
But as you say many of us are locked in or feel that way and some of us have told them to shove it.
