A tenant who is after a new machine? There is nothing that would melt the dispenser without first melting the tub….

Then most likely door has been left open. Freezer side very very rarely goes wrong. Vents at rear of freezer will have frost in and evap will be clear. Defrost and reboot.

Freezer light switch…. Does the light switch off. This is the only thing that will cause an audible alarm.

Does the water get warm? Best to check on 60’c wash. I have come across candy/Hoover machines that will not finish cycles. This being caused by faulty PCb. Even had a customer tell me her machine was spinning for 24hours straight.

Induction jobs are usually supplied with 4mm cable. 6mm is required for resistance based cookers ie ceramic and hot plate.

Can only be PCb then. Heater relay is most probably stuck on. Temp sensor feeds direct to PCb which in turn would switch off the heater. Did you use a cans thermister. There are two types both having different values.

By correct position I think he refers to its location. Ie behind the evap or between the evap and defrost heater. Thermal fuse would require sensor replacement also.
