One stat is to regulate the temp and one is overheat. If the temp is not regulated it will overheat.

The 3 sided seal is most probably a product improvement many cookers now have a gap at the bottom for ventilation. After all the heat rises and so cannot escape. As I was told to tell a customer recently. ” the manufacturer reserves to alter the design/spec without prior notice”. Great when the new part is a different colour to her cooker lol

Air should flow into top of fridge and return at the bottom. If the “generic fan fitted blows the wrong way. Temp issues will continue. Some fans allow you to flip the windings over. Reversing the flow. As with freezer air should blow from the top and return at the bottom. “cold air falls” as you suggested

Undo the screws securing the evap to the back wall. There is enough flex in the pipes to pull the evaporator round. Heater is clipped in place by small lugs.

I have seen bad valve coils on these machines. Valve coil from any machine should fit but you’ll need to fit terminals.

Possible air lock in pressure switch. But I’d say she’s pulling a fast one. If it started when you were there I can’t see why it doesn’t now.

Hi there. The smeg fab is joint produced between smeg and gorenje. Gorenje produce the unit and smeg produce the plastic covering ie the retro part. It’s around 400 cheaper from gorenje. Although it’s the exact same appliance 🙂 they suffer from door failure but personally it’s because people overload them. All in all a good buy.
