Thanks for your replies. I pretty much made a decision that the bulk of it would be tipped, but thought it was worth an ask.
As spares are in short supply I hoped that the stock would be useful, especially MIELE stuff.
Anyway I’ll keep it until I need the space.
I’m in West Sussex, near Bognor Regis, by the way.

Customer has given up on it! Amazingly it suddenly worked, but every 4th or 5th load it would abort.

Further info. When the machine is almost to the point where the fault occurs I noticed the DRYING light is lit even though it’s actually washing!!

Everything appears normal. On the Quick wash cycle it does the main wash, drains, then fills a little, drains a little 3 or 4 times then fills and washes. It’s at this stage that I see water filling the heat exchanger about 1/2 way up then stops with check water light on. It has also added water to the tub. The machine is spotlessly clean, even the heat exchanger/drain section.

I’m wondering if it could anything wrong with the new heat pump, but don’t see how! The flow sensor doesn’t show as a spare on the Bosch parts list, so can’t replace that in hope. The customer only initially reported “no heat” fault but isn’t sure it wasn’t doing this before.

    Checked door switch, OK.
After endless tries it suddenly worked! But then touching the start button for 5 secs didn’t cancel cycle. It has to be the touch pad. Customer’s told me to install new machine!!

    Thanks Dave,
I checked the stats and heater, there’s power right through but couldn’t check right back to the module. I suspected the relay.
I’m waiting on customers decision, but I think she wants a new one!

Thanks, I was afraid that would be the answer. I’ll have to try to repair the broken one as the oven is immaculate. These hinges were replaced about 2 years ago! Whirlpool crap!!

On intensive watching over many programmes it has turned out to be the heat pump actually leaking from the pump body! Customer has cut her losses and bought new.

    Re: Hotpoint WMBF742 goes dead

    Thanks.
I’ve had overheating suppressor plugs, so was my 1st option. Socket outlet fine too. When I left the machine was working OK. Customer confirms it’s completed and done another programme.
