Broken wire in door harness? Had same fault and that was the cause.

    Re: Hotpoint FDW20 LED’s 2 & 4 flashing

The strange thing is the machine heats and completes the cycle in the normal time!! Fault code only after cycle finishes.
I’ve watched it for 20 mins to prove the heater is working.

Yes, but armature had dud segments, so write off after all.

Hi. Did anyone find the answer to this fault? I have been to one doing the same, and all the connectors seem fine I assume it’s the module. As the board was replaced a couple of years ago it seems odd!

Sorry Dave, I missed the 1!
Thanks for the info, I’ll check whether I can get into test cycle. Just seems odd, no LED’s except on/off, which goes off after the initial pump time.

Thanks Martin. Yes have changed the reed switch. It turned out being a bad contact on the board. I guess it’s been standing in a damp place. Anyway, by pulling off all the connections and squeezing them a bit, finally 3 loads perfect!!

Thanks. I thought that when I called to see it. She’s bought a new one which is even more complicated to use!!

Meggered and checked again when it decided to work. It’s now stopped again after a couple of loads. Thought maybe a loose conection, but everything seems tight. It’s in a retirement complex, so gets used heavily. Seems like control board fault, but would like to prove it first.

Thanks for your ideas. I think the spline stripping is most likely, but I don’t have to look now as customer has ordered a new machine!

Had a similar one today, no wash after filling. Broken wires in the door harness!
I thought manufacturers had this sorted, obviously not. Dishwasher fires next?

That’s most likely problem. If the filter isn’t locked down all the crap gets through!

Had the same problem a few weeks ago. Traced to air lock in water supply. Disconnected hose at supply and flushed for a minute until “spluttering” stopped, reconnected and fine ever since
