Re: Bosch SGS5332GB/17 No Light when switched on – appears d

Sounds like the pcb may have blown…remove it and carefully open up it’s box and have a good look firstly to see if there’s a dry joint under one of the relays and secondly to see if one of the triacs has blown (you need good eyesight for that lol)

If it’s a dry joint then just the pcb will need replacing…some of these machines have tracks on the top of the board directly under the relay which means you can’t get the solder in there, but if a triac has blown you need to identify which component it controls and look for a fault there too 😕

Power off/machine isolated at all times :zap:

Cheers for that John. Incidentally, how do the drawers come out?

    Re: HJA8362

Probably because the pcb thinks a button is continuously pressed?

Re: Diplomat HJA 8630 – jammed pump I think

Yep, sounds like something in the drain pump….

IIRC the pump is a twist fit but has one locking screw which you will need to remove..this is viewable from the front and the pump is removed from the RHS as you look at the front of the machine.

Be very careful about removing and refitting the pump, the lugs that hold it on are made of cottage cheese 😕

Once it’s off you can unscrew the chamber to access the impellor 😉

    Re: HJA8362

The one i had did take a lot of cleaner and manipulation of the relevant switch on the pcb…i could only confirm it had worked by metering across it’s pins as it felt like it was working correctly all the time (tiny click when pushed). Never been called back…. 😆

    Re: HJA8362

Yes i did have one which had got a tiny amount of spillage on the pcb which had caused one of the microswitches on the board to stick…a liberal dose of switch cleaner followed by vigorous operation of the button got it going again 😉

Re: Howdens HJA8362 filling then stopping

Next step is to remove the pump and disassemble…look for the lock tab then rotate the chamber off the pump. You’ll need to unscrew the impellor to get it right off, this separates the mechanical bit from the electrical bit.

Try to rotate the electrical bit, if it’s stiff you will need a pump and impellor kit, and you will probably notice the tell-tale leak that’s caused the problem 😉

You can’t see the reed switch it’s hidden by the plastic chamber and it’s such a lightweight device even MI5 listening devices won’t hear it i’m afraid! The only way to test is with a meter…..

    AFAIK there isn’t one….

What is the problem with it?

    Re: WHIRLPOOL 7550 FAULT??

If you can identify the cables from the water level sensor and disconnect from the pcb then you can check for continuity between them. There are three wires, two will have a circuit together and one open, then if a helper carefully pushes a thin blunt object through the grid in the sensor to operate the sitch in it, then the circuit will break and remake between one of the first two wires and the third…

Re: whirlpool g2p dwi 9 flashes

Water inlet valve failure means it would be continuously letting water in even if the machine was unplugged (wet feet!)

Assuming you didn’t get flooded out it sounds like the pcb is faulty 😕

You can test the operation of the flow meter by checking for continuity at the plug on the pcb…use a small magnet ‘wafted’ near the little pcb on the meter. This should operate the reed switch and make/break the circuit…
