…or perhaps a ‘Blue Peter’ moment with some sticky-backed plastic? 😆

    Count us in as well…

We just pragmatically want to recover as much money that’s owed to us as we reasonably can by whatever means.

If the TA manages to pull off a negotiated deal to continue to provide service cover then we would certainly consider it, and that would be a big feather in the cap for the TA too!

Sounds like a case of corrosion in iron water supply pipework giving off hydrogen sulphide gas which has the classic ‘rotten eggs’ smell 😉

    Re: MFI Turmoil

I had a phone call from Mark Ridler last night at 8 o’clock…he had eventually responded to our emails regarding the situation.

He was very careful to explain that he was part of the ‘new’ MFI which had nothing to do with the ‘old’ MFI and therefore any work carried out by us after 1st october would be subject to the usual terms and conditions including us getting paid. (no mention of what has gone before)

But, and there is always a ‘but’, the financial prospects of this new company must surely be bleak given the current financial situation of the economy… after all, when people become short of money or even worried about shortage of money then the last thing they will do is splash out on a new kitchen.

Well we shall see….when the october account is settled in full we might be inclined to decline their offer of work politely 😆

    Re: MFI Turmoil

Well i’ve tried ringing one or two in MFI but got no further with regards to outstanding payments 😕

In fact, the thing that really annoys is the total lack of communication from them….thank heavens for UKWG for keeping us all informed (cheers Ken et al)

We have yet to receive this letter that has apparently been sent to all the agents so if anyone could manage to scan and email a copy to me I’d be most grateful 😆

We have about 5k exposure too, it sounds like making the best of a bad job i.e. if it’s covered by insurance then the job gets done, if not well the customers will have to pay. I’m not sure how happy they will be if they receive an invoice for a job they thought was under guarantee, and the odds of getting money out of them will frankly be slim 😕

All new jobs will be payment up front first i think!

It’s quite possible that the board will be damaged though it usually survives. The only practical way is to try it unfortunately 😕

My question is: Is there any way to test whether the soap dispenser is causing the problem without fitting a known good one?

    Yes….with a multimeter!

Another ‘bodge’ test is to connect the coil from an inlet valve from another machine to see if the dishwasher now functions 😉
