ParticipantRe: dishwasher
Two flashes of the start light means it has a leak somewhere and there is water in the base tray…you can confirm this by unplugging and gently tipping the machine back at 45o with towels on the floor…
If you can post the model number and service number we might be able to give more specific information 😉

ParticipantRe: Panasonic NN-A752W Microwave… Big Problem!
Almost certainly the packaging wasn’t sufficiently pierced, it’s entirely possible that if there were only one or two small holes the food could have moved to plug them…you must always ‘riddle’ the packaging with holes to prevent pressure build-up.
The good news is the machine is probably easily repaired..the broken door hook will need replacing and a full leak test done to check the door isn’t damaged, but it will probably be ok.
Hope your wife is ok and hasn’t been put off preparing dinner? 😆

Do you keep chickens ? as we are in the process of looking into this as we have the space at home,my only concern is a visit by mr fox.Dave
Apparently, if you’ve got the space, you put the coop at least 8′ in the air on top of a pole, give the birds a thin ladder to climb…..they’ll put themselves to bed of an evening and Mr fox won’t get in 😉

ParticipantRe: Smeg e9 error code
In that case it will prolly need a new pcb but do get confirmation from an engineer inspection…there are a few known faults that can give strange error codes 😉
You might like to try the link below for a local engineer?clivejameson
ParticipantRe: Smeg e9 error code
That error code doesn’t equate to an error as such and shouldn’t be displayed during normal operation. Search the forum for ‘smeg AND reset’ to find the reset procedeure which should sort it. 😉
It’s not unknown for these to display eroneous error codes unfortunately, and resetting is often the cure, but if that doesn’t sort it then you may be looking to replace the pcb(costly)…if that’s the case it would be wise to get an engineer in first to rule out other causes of pcb failure 😉

ParticipantRe: Credit Crunch ?
We’ve been busier than ever although the phone actually slowed down today. Sales of new machines has slowed significantly over the last month, but repairs have bolstered this nicely, contract work is busier than ever but this is mainly due i suspect to our increase in goegraphical coverage area….in fact we are even considering reducing the area again as we have started to lose one or two cash jobs on the local patch due to the lead times for a service call 😕
With the relatively gloomy economic forecasts for 2008 (credit much harder to obtain, rising mortgage costs, less job security etc) we are looking forward to a steady increase in repairs 😀

There is no such manufacturer as Diplomat, that is simply an own brand MFI name. They have used various makes for different models, yours is made by Smeg 😉
