No…you have a leak there, find, fix, end of problem 😉
If you need an engineer to help you then try the link below?

ParticipantRe: B&Q Dishwasher, Model DW009 – HELP!!!
I have on occasion over the years seen this problem where the furniture doors are exceptionally lightweight, and a satisfactory cure i’ve also seen is to bond a piece of roofer’s lead sheet into the recess in the back of said cabinet door 😉

Yes…the flow meter is built into the metering tank near the bottom at the back and has three wires connected to it…make sure the contacts are clean (rub with a pencil rubber or very fine emery) and that the wires connect tightly to it.

The fault E6 corresponds to a filling fault, unless you’ve got a kinked hose or tap turned off then it means you have the common problem of the flow meter.
It almost invariably means the connections to it need cleaning/remaking. It is situated on the LHS at the base of the metering tank…nice easy job for a pro (click the link below for help).
If you’re having a go yourself then don’t forget to unplug before doing anything. :zap:

The undertray of the machine will be full of water and it’s on it’s flood protection which gives the two flashes…unplug the machine without delay until you’ve drained it (tip back at 45 degrees, plenty of old towels on the floor) then let it dry out…the undertray has a couple of torx screws holding it on so it can be removed easily.
It’s probable that the blockage has caused this but there are other known issues with these such as flow meter failure, or wash pump failure so keep a careful eye on it the next time you try it.
Don’t forget power disconnected before doing anything :zap:

Most likely the door lock itself, it can take a few seconds to warm up and operate. Do not under any circumstances try to operate the lock by hand when the appliance plug is still in the socket (even switched off)….there is a very real danger of death :zap: :lesson:
It is also possible that there is an earth fault somewhere which will have blown the door lock along with the pcb too so simply fitting a new door lock might result in a little pyrotechnics 😕
At the very least you need to test for earth faults before proceeding.
If you haven’t the equipment/experience then perhaps time for an engineer?

Yes sorry for the rant Bryan….just shows how strong a feeling Yellow Pages created in me 😆

ParticipantRe: When is Hoover NOT Hoover?
I would never use yellow pages again, i never got much work out of it…they cunningly divide the relevant area into separate sections like ‘cooker repairers’, ‘electrical appliance repairers’, ‘washing machine repairers’ in the hope that you’ll place more than one ad so it can be extremely expensive.
I used to have a small box ad in there, got the usual sales guff from a visiting rep who said i should sign for two editions to get a cheaper rate, then when the 1st came out to cancel the second year if i wasn’t happy with the ad. Of course i later found out that it was difficult to cancel the second year, the rate was no cheaper anyway but the rep made a tidy commission on the deal 👿
The other inducement was to pay for the ad by DD spread over 10 months interest free to which i agreed. I completed the forms with the rep and the ad duly appeared but no payments were taken from my bank 😀
Some 6 months later I had a letter demanding the whole payment in one go as nothing had yet been paid. 😕
After several calls and letters they agreed to set up another DD to pay for it but again no payment was taken from my bank!
Almost a year to the day I received their next communication….a court summons for the whole amount, plus interest, plus legal fees 👿
Of course i returned the summons to the court with a copy of a letter from my bank showing that they had in fact set up the DD both times but had failed to request any payment, and a counter claim for 300 squid for all the paperwork, phone calls and sheer anguish etc
The last communication was simply an envelope containing a cheque for £300….no letter, nothing.I for one will not be rushing do business with them anytime soon 😉

Martin wrote:Hey Clive, these guys supply an amazing variety of brews, any good?
Never tried a single one Martin, but they are all good names and i’d be quite happy to brew any of them. There are a good number of HB suppliers still, and they all do mail order 😉 Here’s another…

and another good one….

I have it on good authority that the Brupaks Almondbury Gold and the Fixby Gold are both excellent 😉
And of course, for your 20 quid you’ll get over forty delicious pints 😆

iadom wrote:Whilst your efforts may indeed turn out to be excellent Clive I have to say that I have never, ever tasted a pint of ‘home brew’ that was anything but awful. I have drunk really nice home made wines but beer, nah.
The club where I play my squash serves, John Smiths, Tetley’s, Jennings, John Wille Lees, amongst others, the last two both cask ales, all for £1.75 a pint. 8)
Jim.
Sadly Jim, most newbie brewers think that they can just buy a kit from somewhere like Boots who stock the cheapest, poorest quality kits which have probably been sitting on the display shelf for months….those will never produce anything of real quality if they manage to produce anything drinkable at all 😕
There are a great number of premium kits you’ll only get from home brew suppliers which will make some fantastic beers of all varieties….homebrewing has after all been popular since the late sixties when Dennis Healey lifted all the duties and restrictions on fermented alcohol for personal consumption (about the only good thing he did! 😆 ) so it’s come a long way since the boom took off. Back then, the only yeasts you could get hold of (and there are literally thousands of strains) were usually bread yeasts and they have a habit of producing all sorts of nasty alcohols resulting in a brew that might only be 2.5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} alcohol but which would blow your head off and leave you with a cracking headache too
For a real premium beer i prefer to go the ‘all grain’ route, it can and does produce a beer as fine as any you could buy, indeed my brews are nicer than some pints i’ve bought in pubs!
As for the price well that doesn’t come into it TBH, for me it’s the fun of brewing and the pleasure i get when i give a pint to a friend who at first might be a little sceptical, but then after finishing a pint asks for more 😆

I’m up for it! Whats the brew called and where can I get it from?😕 ❓
It’s from a recipe created by David Line in his snappily titled book ‘Brewing Beers Like Those You Buy’ 😆
Sadly no longer in print but there are a few copies to be found here and there. If anyone considers homebrewing it’s a must-have book along with ‘Home Brewed Beers And Stouts’ by C.J.J. Berry….both books put it in plain english and make it easy to understand….a few appliance manufacturers might learn a lesson from that! Mind you, i dread to think what a pint of Merloni would taste like!!! 😆 😆

Well it was cool enough this morning to pitch the yeast, and some late hops for aroma.
By this evening the ferment was well underway 😀 -
