looking at new shaft there is quite a difference.if rpm on both shafts are the same i would think new shaft will add up to 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} to drum speed.as iadom says it has to be motor as i doubt if theres anything built into mechanics of m/c to regulate motor.

hi Shaun, these magnets are a pain.the only thing i can think of is that the bedding in of new brushes has caused slight vibrations to travel down armature. no visible crack when brushes replaced.Paul

how much bigger is the motor pulley shaft. any increase in this size will have a great difference going from small to to massive pulley(drum)especially if there is no reduction in rpm of new motor.

first thing to check is rubber clutch coupling between motor and gear box, easy repair if that is all it is.

it has been connected to mains correctly but i suspect that little hands have been playing about with it inside.it does have warranty but was not purchased locally so a bit of a logistics nightmare to return.my suggestion was the same and told customer to return it,but that not much good to tenant who has just moved in.will have a proper look mon morn.
